you wont get anywhere near 240bhp with just a chip! you'd need to spend a small fortune to tune the standard engine to that level. The highest bhp 182 on here is running at 225bhp and thats had extensive work done to it.
well i no the arguments for larger alloys making you slower ect. them being too wide affects handling, being too heavy will slow you down, but i think as I'm going for pro race 2's (nice light alloys) that it shouldnt have a detrimental affect on performance, if anything, might feel a little...
no problem mate, what colours your car then? gold wheels are a bitof an odd one, only suit certain colour cars. I'd try them on your car before you have them painted.
i'm def not going for 17's! my choice is based now on how good it will look. so 16's it is. as for what lunner said, why do you say i'll go faster on 15's? ok so 16's will be wider tyres, but not that much and the 16's are still lighter than my standard alloys!
I am very close to ordering my new alloys, I know which ones i want but am still unsure whether to go for 15's or 16's. I have a mk2 ph1 that will be lowered on eibach pro's, so only 20-25mm drop. I think the 15's will look a bit small for aftermarket wheels, but will 16's make my car look...
have you had the problem with any of the gears going in but making a horrible grating sound as it does it? i've been worried it might be something that'll cost a fortune and will noly get worse, sounds like its not the case though
mk's are to do with basic construction eg chassis size/shape, body panels ect. the body parts for a mk1 or mk 2 are interchangeable throughout all the various phases, of course there are some where you need other parts such as, to use mk2ph2 headlights you need wings, bonnet, bumper and...
if it was a sealed unit and couldnt be changed that would be a really bad design flaw, lol. I've got a haynes manual in he car so will check that and give it a go.
ok now not only is my gearstick squeeking like a pig being molested, but occasionally it wont go into first easily, takes a few attempts, and also now occasionally grates as i put into 5th. Any ideas anyone??
you can go as low as you want, 35mm will be about as low as you should go on standard shocks, but if youo go to uprated shocks you can goto 60mm, any lower than that you'll need coilovers. have a look here - http://www.bbperformancetuning.co.uk/Products/Default.asp?type=dept&DepartmentID=1189...
