I find here there are the more entusiast type cars that you recognise, then the odd ragged example pops up with usual chav mods. There was a monaco 172 I kept seeing being ragged around here late at night with silly exhausts then it disappeared, and good riddance too frankly.
I dont think the...
Once cars drop into the sub 1500 quid area they become fair game, i dont think its just sport clios though look at mk4 golfs and so oon. Type-Rs havent yet hit that bracket
I see a fair few sports pop up round my area for a few weeks then disappear. I put it down to servicing costs and insurance
New thermostat and coolant went in today, nice and easy job. Now my gauge actually sits in the middle as it should. I tested the old stat and it didn't seem to be stuck open at all however but never the less it went in the bin
Just done the offside wishbone balljoint on this as it was looking crusty and wasn't as tight as I'd like. Hate doing ball joints on these though, saxo is so much easier!
Mine does this too but it still does get to temp if I sit for long enough in traffic. Plus dont forget its cold now so its going to have an effect. Im due a coolant change soon anyway so I'll change it then, but I can still rev to 7250 when its warm
I think my thermostat is stuck open ever so slightly as it takes a while to get up to half. I'm also getting between 22-24mpg so could be a duff lambda altough I've had it on the reader and no codes came up. Having said that I sit in traffic an awful lot and it only does 18 miles a day, think...
Silver 02 plate 172 with 182 cup wheels parked up in fareham crescent wolverhampton.
Then a blue replica on 182 cup wheels again in the bridgnorth road Shell station. Was with a corsa C who couldnt get it started!
As above the battery is held on by a bracket that attached to the gearbox mount. I suspect the bar you mean is the ECU support bracket which runs from the ecu down to the slam panel
Saw the silver 172 in wolverhampton, coalway road yesterday about 6pm. Not sure if its any ones on here but delightfully standard
Today I saw the Arctic 182 just leaving bilston by the morrisons about 5pm
Old gearbox mount was shagged as can be seen here, so I changed it. Kept dropping the bloody bolts from the mount itself, can be a pig if they drop down onto the subframe! Should be captive nuts but anyway its done now.
Old shagged one on the left:
Gonna go pick one up tonight then probably swap tonight or tuesday. Isn't there a bolt on the underside of the mount that can come undone and cause issues too? I've never looked
Well i'm pretty sure it isnt the ball joint, giving it a good shake and wiggle when jacked up I get no play in it.
Did you sort of feel the odd clunk through the pedal when braking every so often? Theres not a lot of movement when rocking the engine back and forth by hand mind you.
Got a bit of a knock coming through the pedal sometimes when pulling away and when stopping. Ball joints seem ok and were recently done, so I'm thinking it could be gearbox side upper mount. Lower is a powerflex one.
Is it worth getting the OEM renault one of motorfactor ones ok and whats the...
