I'm actually quite glad to hear it is a common problem with the 1.6, at least it probably means it isn't anthing more sinister.
Middo; I am actually considering changing my breakdown cover next year to the AA. I haven't exactly had a good experience with the people I am with at the moment. At...
Hiya Graham, welcome to CS. :D Good choice for your first Clio. I hope you grow to love her and enjoy her as much as we all do ours. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of her. ;)
To be honest it wouldn't matter if you did drive it every day. If you like it then that is all that counts. Yes, there are bound to be people that don't like it, but it would be extremely boring if we all had the same tastes. I admire you for having the guts to be different. Lets face it though...
I bought Sugar Virtual Makeover. You put a pic of your face up and can change, hairstyles, make-up, add body art, jewellery, hair accessories and even do your nails. I don't know if it is available online though. Maybe you could google it.
I think that is abit of an unfair question being as we all have very different tastes. There is no doubt in my mind that some people wouldn't want mine as it stands. They would hate the Lexus rear lights and may not even like my wheels. So like I said, abit of an unfair question really.
The mirrors are quite tiny, hadn't actually noticed them before. I think they quite suit the car though. I wouldn't put them on mine, but each to their own and it's good to be different I think.
Oh bloody hell! Good job my servicing costs are pretty low with my garage then. I remember when an MOT cost me £14, that's going back a good few years now though. I hear the MOT's are about to get abit tougher too. God knows what else will be on the MOT now then! :S
Bloody hell, seems like we have spent an absolute fortune between the lot of us. Worth it in my opinion though. I would hate to think how much more i could spend if I started on engine mods. I'm not even going to go there though. lol
We (Hubby and I) are considering modding our little 13 year...
Congratulations mate. I bet that put a big smile on your face. :D Mine's not due for it's 2nd one until next June, hopefully mine will go straight through too, although I do expect to have to do the brake pads before then. lol
Thanks guys.
Yeah Deb, sods law it'll f**k up if you praise it too much. I have learnt my lesson.
Timmay; It certainly does sound as if that is the case with mine too. Hopefully it isn't anything more sinister than that! Freaked the s**t out of me though as it was most unexpected. The...
Update:
The breakdown/recovery guy came out today. Oh bloody hell what a joke! Firstly he had no idea how to get the engine cover off, so had to go indoors to get the Haynes manual (as I had no idea either). He finally gets it off and stands there just looking at it, as if he thinks the...
I have been praising my car for the past three years as I have never had any problems with her. I was only saying on saturday how good she has been and how glad I was that mine has never given me any trouble. Then, yesterday I went to go out in her and OH NO WHAT THE f**k!?? She was misfiring...
I put Eibach pro springs and dampers on mine. It dropped her 30mm. The handling is superb! She rides bumps and potholes really well now instead of jumping all over the road. The car hardly feels any different to drive either. I think it is probably the best thing I have done for my car. She...
There is one other thing I have been wondering. I dismissed this earlier as purely being paranoid, but it is making me wonder. In the early hours of this morning 1.30amish I heard this loud clang, like someone had dropped something on the pavement. I was nice and cosey in my bed and being as my...
No Tom I haven't. I'll be totally honest. There is absolutely no way I am going to try and take anythng apart on the damn thing. I took one look under the bonnet and simply said "f**k that for a game of conkers!" I do not know much about all these new things these darn computerised cars have...
Exactly. Mine said 'Oil ok', but I wans't about to trust it. Wanted to check to see if it had burnt any oil as it stank. I'm really short, only 5-1 so it was abit of an effort to reach down that bloody far. What a daft place to put it. I know it has to be where it is, but they could have made...
f**king hell, thank f**k for that! I didn't think so, but like I say I'm not exactly thinking straight. I'm going to slaughter him for worrying me like that! I should know better really with all the motors I have worked on over the years. It's just these new computerised things have me puzzled...
Drove it for no more than 1/4 mile.
Hubby has just freaked me by saying he hopes it isnt a case that the cam belt slipped. Jesus christ, please tell me he's talking b****cks! My sense of what could have happened has gone out of the window along with all my years of training and working...
It was years and years ago, and although petrol is alot dearer, the parts would probably still be cheaper than buying them for the Clio. Plus I didn't have to worry about all this computerised crap! Plugs were a piece of piss to do too. I wouldn't swap my Clio to have my Capri back mind you, but...
Ah yeah right. I didn't think of that. Doh, silly me! lol
I'm not exactly thinking straight right now. I'm actually quite upset that my baby is sick. To top it all off the darn trick or treaters have started rining the darn door bell. I have nothing ti give them either as I didn't make it to...
Cheaper running? My mk1 1.6 race tuned Capri cost less to run than my Clio. Was piss easy to wrok on too. This better for the planet s**t makes me laugh as well, as the unleaded fuel is far worse for us and the planet the leaded fuel ever was. It's a joke isn't it?
It started as soon as the engine fired. The car started shaking and misfiring like f**k! I wondered wether she had got abit wet under the bonnet being as it's been raining, and we all know some Renaults hate the rain., so I thought I would just take her up the road to see if it cleared, but it...
I f**king hate all this new fangled b****cks! Bring back the old crossflow engines I say. They were piss easy to work on and very rarely gave you any trouble with basic maintenance. I hate all this computerised s**t. Electric this, chips for that. It's all done to try and make sure the general...
