    Burpspeed - From The beginning

It certainly is. Holes are also good for drainage when you break out the hosepipe after a scary moment on track ;)

    More streamline bits

I can understand the tidy thing. Plus it does look incredibly cool.
  3. Tighten My Nuts

    More streamline bits

Looks very nice. Why not just leave it bare though?

    Burpspeed - From The beginning

Bias valve? I so need your expertise.

    Limp mode

Not difficult at all. I took the old one off and had the new one fitted and running in less than 10 minutes. 4x 10mm bolts is all you have to undo.

    Limp mode

It could be the throttle body. Mine kept dropping into limp mode and a new one has fixed it.

    The 100k group

107k in mine. Apart from crap wiring a few times, it's been alright. It's running better than ever right now.

    Low pro's

    I'm LMFAO.

    Weighed the cup

What I've removed from my non-aircon 172 Cup weighed in at a total of 117kgs putting me at 904kgs from the 1,021 starting point. You must have so much more to come...everything you take out should be bigger and heavier on yours for a start ;) As to 172bhp/ton...keep up!

Yes my roof really is lined with cardboard

LMAO - there's no cardboard in my 172 Cup. Who said Renault build quality was improving?

    standard wheels = 185/55/15.. can i run 195/55/15?

Technically you alter the balance of grip because you have different widths front and rear. With more grip on the front and less on the rear, you're more likely to oversteer...but that's only really a factor if you drive like a loon on the road. I regularly run different profiles depending...

    Carbone Lorraine, is this normal?

I run CLs but can't say if they're RC5 or not...no idea. A full day at Goodwood recently and my wheels were still bright yellow with only a light powdering of brake dust...so I'd guess I'm running a different compound.

    RS4-2 vs DS2500?

I've run DS2500s and Blues - Blues all day long for me, I found the DS2500s wilted a bit too easily. Plus I got almost 30k miles from the Blues so the extra cost spreads itself that much further.

car out performs the driver LOL!

LOL, watching that it was always going to happen.

182 ownership in words and pics

Re: My 182, six months of ownership in words and pics Nice thread. As you said...take tuition and get on track, that's all you have to do.

    I kicked a Skyline's ass...

That sounds extreme - especially with all that turbo torque! Must be quite a different beast to drive? 3rd of April's out for me...take my daughter swimming every friday afternoon :( Any other days planned so far for this year? My trackday diary's clear at the moment...I just have to take...

    I kicked a Skyline's ass...

LOL Nutter. I'm hoping to get to Combe before July this year...I'll let you know when.

    STD 197 seat weight??

No idea. My 172 cup one was 21kgs including the mount/runners etc. if that's any help? What went back in weighed 6 :approve:

    RS Gearboxs.............who's had problems

107,000 miles on mine, shifts very smoothly with no resistance or notchiness. Never had even the slightest sense that it wasn't working anything other than 100%. Heel and toe FTW.

    Todays lil job!

Good work franx! Watch the CAF against the various bolts etc. sticking out from the engine...mine was rubbing and in no time at all I had a hole in it. No problem, just a few more cable ties to keep it away.

    Brakes advice

Braided lines are better for pedal feel and position consistancy, having freshly bled fluid is better for your health. Do that and stick with the pads/discs. If you kill them off, try something else.

    I kicked a Skyline's ass...

That's how it works on trackdays. Over the course of a lap I closed up 2 seconds on him despite easing off in several places. That's why he let me pass.

    Evo Triangle Weekend

    W***ers. Sh*t roads anyway. :rasp:
  24. Tighten My Nuts

    Todays lil job!

Nope. You'll have too much pipework going on behind that front grill panel to route it that way.

First ever drive by video - K-tec decat and stealth.

I like the pops on the over run. Sound better than mine. :(

Gear linkage woes - anyone help?

Click by click? The bit I was adjusting had no clicks in its movement...it was just out from the actuating arm, rod and sleeve with a pinch-bolt that could (almost) freely rotate. Have I missed something?

What petrol do you run your 1*2 on ??

Supermarket slop makes mine rough and it won't pull cleanly on idle in traffic. Optimax then V-power for mine from new...in 107k only ever had maybe 5 full tanks of nastiness go through it. One thing for certain is that I go a lot further on V-power...I mean 43 mpg compared to 38 mpg. Only...

Gear linkage woes - anyone help?

I tried that, over and over again for two hours. Having taken it out for a proper spin I've got 1,3,4,5 and neutral perfect, but reverse is nowhere to be found I'm going to watch Mike very closely when he fixes it.
