Thats how to do it without putting new cable into the doors assuming your using the headunit, if your using an amp (as you should for comps) then just replace the hu outputs for the amp output in the diagram.
It unclips, theres a bit of plastic to the right of it as you look at the back of the headlight that you need to level to the right and turn the adjuster to release it. Be careful though and don't snap it off and it if fiddly. Have a look and understand what I mean first, don't go bull at a gate...

Crossover needs to be wired full range from the headunit, the door speaker wire is where the fun begins really. Do a search its been covered before and i've explained the options several times, basically you either get new cable into the doors or knock an adapter up.

What comps have you installed?, yes you need the crossovers! Theres no existing crossover in the stock system, just a filter on the tweet.

Yes removing the cambelt etc to get to the water pump, with all the stuff they'll have taken off anyway it'll be a ten minute job to change the water pump with a bit more to drain/fill and bleed the coolant system.
