Disagree...totally...
A539's handle huge amounts of abuse, the treadblocks do not disintegrate no matter what you throw at them or how hot they get, and sidewalls stay intact (unlike PE2's).
Once you get the slip angle up they don't tail off sharply...in fact there's no real limit at...
61K since new on a 53 plate, very little in the way of problems, goes like absolute f**king s**t off a shovel.
As above, I tend not to listen to anything except the engine/exhaust/tyres when driving...can't get enough of it.
I still, after all this time and mileage, take it out for a 2hr...
I've never run EBC - green or any other colour.
The pads I had that were proper shite were Tarox Fast Road & Track - one trackday, 1,500 miles, almost down to the metal, with cracks running through the pad material.
Just play it by ear...
If you're fairly calm round the track, normal pressures will probably be just fine.
After each session check how they're wearing though, if through corners you find you're rolling onto the sidewalls and destroying the writing on the side...bump them up a bit.
If...
I've got two gas blow-backs and an AEG already...but have you taken a 0.2g BB at 328fps from 10 feet away? They hurt like f***, and the AEG spits out 20 rounds per second.
It would probably break his ribs or something...I can't do that...he's very calming when he's not trashing my car.
Bit too harsh mate ^^^ ;)
It's worse in the winter...within 2 mins of pulling up and stepping inside, he's sat across the wipers, getting all the engine heat.
I'd shut him outside at night for punishment...but he'd probably just crap on the roof in revenge.
I've tried the (low powered)...
No damage thankfully...just muddy footprints everywhere.
And if that isn't bad enough...he then forced his way into my house.
Luckily I caught him sniffing around and chased him the f*** out...
I caught a picture of him as he made his escape...
If anyone sees him...
No damage...I slid along probably less than 12 inches from it then ended up facing the right way :)
The beeping? Origin b2 overspeed warning, which beeps about 3 seconds late after reaching 100mph.
If the ESP light was flashing, it hadn't given up...it was saving your ass.
And the green gear light...did you panic and press all three pedals at once...sending the revs sky high?
Also...you could give these a try...not too pricey, and although they're "re-moulds", they're fully FIA approved and road legal.
I'm hoping to get a set later this year...then I might go out on the road on them and try to get a copper behind me...see if the pull me over LOL
The A032's are good, they've lasted me 4 trackdays so far...and I'll probably be able to tease one more out of them before there's danger of canvas showing.
I've never run them on the road for normal use, but I might if there's enough left after my next trackday...just because I like the...
Definitely not, gets in the way, stops you having fun, and will randomly grab at brakes if it thinks you're going off or putting to much power down (well, it did on the 182 Cup I drove at the last RS trackday there). Can be very hazardous on track when you're driving on the limit.
Having said...
Slightly louder...but not a great deal.
It has a nice subtle "burble" at tickover, and if you're driving normally on partial throttle at low revs you'd probably not be able to tell the difference from the roadside.
Get it over 5k rpm under full load though and it sounds fantastic...rasps...
Exactly...designed to crumble into dust after 2 years/60k miles in my case.
Near £450 for a standard Renault one which'll go the same way in 2 more years...
Or £265 for the Stealth, with a lifetime warranty...no decision to make really.
I always swore I'd never buy new...but I got such a good deal from New-car-discount.com (less than £10k as they paid waaaaaaay over the top for my Mondeo Part-ex), I thought why not.
Plus depreciation only comes into play when you sell a car...which I'm never going to do with this one :)
I had the same rattle problem before the centre section started blowing (was cracked)...went for a K-tec stealth replacement in the end...highly recommended if you're after something not too loud, or with HUUUUUUGE tailpipes showing.
IMO straightline stats only tell half the story...from what Mr Townsend was saying...it's pretty sharp dynamically on-track.
I'm really looking forwards to giving one death at Brands in August...back to back with my Cup...should be quite interesting.
As are grip and handling...so many seem unable to grasp that though.
I found the One I had a thrash in superb...not as much grip, a little more weight, a LOT less power...but it handled superbly.
