Well I haven't got either so if I want carbon i'll got for the k-tec one, only £20 dearer than the normal ones seem to go for. And about £20 cheaper than renault sell them for!
On a monaco blue 172? In two minds and not sure if the carbon one would look better than the normal plastic one?

What do people think?
Yes it'll work like that, but the standard headunit is really shite tbh and that'll produce a really crappy signal.
Erm not sure on loosing the rear speakers because I don't know if it'll effect the load on the HU, best to ask on http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/
Nope no gasket or seal with it, that metal ring with the three bolts in which tightens on top of the gaiter presses the lip of the gaiter against the gearbox face creating a seal. Hence nothing else.
Ah thats ok it definetly a renault then! Let me know on the cover fingers crossed here :).
And repeats? Or just sounds once? Pretty naff if it only sounds once because most people would ignore an alarm going off for 30 secs then stopping.
Its not the airbag computer preventing it from starting, I didn't have mine connected at all for a few days whilst I was working on the 1.6 and barring the lack of airbags and the serv and airbag light it didn't effect the running of the car.
Theres a place on ebay that'll reset your airbag...
It wasn't a standard renault alarm it was a cobra plip upgrade jobbie which worked the same as the renault alarm, had a button combined with the LED by the gearstick.
I'm assuming theres no way with the renault alarm then? f**k knows what your supposed to do if you break the plip or the battery...
With the cobra plip alarm I fitted to my old 1.6 you had a PIN and a button to enter the pin should the battery in the key go flat, you opened the door with the key alarm went off you put the code in and the alarm stopped.
Obviously its a similar alarm in the 172 but theres no way (I can see)...
Must say I quite like the Ph2 172 wheels tbh, must be about the only person that does mind! Did handle well on the 15s though, don't know whether than was down to the F1s or them being 15s.
Looks nice to me, one thing I must say it that theres something about all these reps that doesn't "look" right about them. Theres something about them that make me tell its not an RS and I can't work out what it is.
Theres two parts depending on the dimension of "X" in this pic:
X=25.80 -> 77 01 470 567 GAITER D/SHAFT 28.22 ---3 x 1
X=28 -> 77 01 470 566 GAITOR D/SHAFT LE 29.33 ---3 x 1
