Is it worth changing ?
My lil' old 1.2 is 4 years old now and just wondering if its worth changing ?
It does absolutely refuse to go into 1st when creeping when its cold but does it fine when its warm, just wondered if it would make any difference to this or be worth it on the wholeshot ?
Yep, you need a 13/14mm (can't remember which) long socket, its pretty much an airtight seal to the walls of the plug hole. Getting them out is a bit of a mish but I used a claw grabber thing, works well enough.
Yep, you'll need a mounting cage.
Speaker adapters are here : http://www.auto-connect.co.uk/acatalog/RENAULT.html
Wish i'd known about them before I did mine but oh well, will be using them next time.
In the normal ph2s its the connector for the seat belt pretentioner/side airbag under the seat working its way loose. Not sure if the same applies for the vee.
I've got a 9855R and have changed the speakers and they made a phemonimal difference the standard renault ones really are quite poor in comparison. Didn't replace them with anything special (should have spent a bit more really) just put some JBL GTO526s in the front and back they were a direct...
You just need to pick the hu brand and then the vehicle adapter works well enough with my alpine 9855r.
You need one of each to suite the car and the hu brand.

Clio Adapter ...
It clips in at the front and has a torx bolt at the rear, I just removed the document tray that was already there and then put the bracket in its place and used to same bolt to secure the bracket that had been securing the tray.
I got the bracket from renault for when I was doing this, cost about £9 I think maybe less but wasn't a lot.
Though its a pain in the arse to get the bracket in once the changer is installed on the bracket but its possible and it is probably the best way to do it.
Got the car at 20000 in May and have almost ticked over to 29000 so i'll done about 9000 in the last 7 months, though as of next july I won't need to travel as much for work as I have been doing so that should calm the miles down.
Yep, I can feel a difference, pulls much better in 2nd and 3rd. (as much as a 1.2 can)
Also today went to pull up outside a mates house and when I went to brake the pedal just went to the floor with the abs, luckily was only going 5mph or so and managed to stop but that would be s**t scary at...
Ughh Ignis, absolutely hate the little bleeders. Spent half my time learning to drive in one of these before my instructor got a new mini. I'm yet to find a car I hate more than these things.
From what i've seen of them they seem like a great hu, only problem i've got with them is that the screen resolution isn't the best just seems a little blocky to me, prefer the biolite display on the alpines.
One of my mates at work actually knows the lad whos car this was. Pretty sure its the same photo theres a few more, it was his brother who wrote it off. Let him borrow it for a day went out and managed to roll it over a few times. Its a Mk1 172 btw.
Sony is a no go. The pioneers are nice but the only problem I have with the first one is that the screen is very blocky and doesn't really have a good enough resolution.
Now i've got a 9855R so i'm obviously gonna be biased but I think it really is the best one out of those.
Can't comment on much else but I've just recently installed a 9855R in my clio and I can say its worth every penny. More features and options than i'll ever know how to setup and the sound quality difference between the oem hu is amazing, you won't go far wrong with one.
Also you'll probably...
Mine does this terrible in the mornings if its cold or if its cold and raining, just have to get the heater on and it soon clears, AC does it pretty much instantly.
Yeh I had this problem when I first took them off, just got a bit of wood and prised them off. Put some copperslip on and they came off a dream when I did my cambelt.
I've got a 2001 1.2 16v dynamique+ and if you look on parkers you'll see that it apparently doesn't exist!
Never seen a 1.2 dynamique+ listed on any insurance sites either, even though it says dynamique+ on the glovebox.
Mines had climate control added as an option and pretty much everything...
