No, it only swings open, you should be able to get to the bolts holding it to the block now so you can remove them.

The two bolts come out and it just unclips.

I usally go for just after 5,500rpm which should be just after peak power. For a 1.2 its no dragster but its not bad on the scale of 1.2s though youve got to keep the revs up otherwise itll bog down easily.

Its definetly the outside temp, when I got in my car at work in the car park it was reading 34c. After driving about 5 miles down the road it was 29c, so it does seem to suffer from wind chill a bit. Though I think 29c was more accurate than 34c so I dont think it makes it incredibly inaccurate...
