It depends what catagory of write off it becomes , d you can buy back no problem , c is trickier but you should be able too , A and B not without a salvage licence
used to run the same theory on zetecs , bottom end would withstand an 8k rev limit with bolts as standard , forged bottom end even brought in from the states was big money , short engine from ford £450 ..... run a standard bottom with bolts and pocked pistons and hey presto with a decent top end...
i think we will agree to disagree , as i really do think the torque figure (we have recently been doing a lot with this on the dyno looking at single geared 2 stroke engines ) those winning races have been the ones with higher torque and more useable curves and maybe down on bhp on some of the...
I disagree with you , they both have a correlation you cannot have one without the other ,
If you have a high torque low rpm engine (where we remember bhp is torque*rpm ) it will never get to the desired speed (limit is rpm )
if you have very low torque and very high rpm it will take forever...
that's not strictly true that BHP gives acceleration?
That's down to the turning force which is torque. On low torque engines you can compensate with high reves and the gearbox to give you the desired effect to accelerate faster , but its still the torque doing the job. gearing will change the...
in simple terms daniel you remove the sump , and use a remote tank(resovoir) to hold the oil , usually a larger amount , and pump the oil from there round the engine with a pump usually driven off the auxillary system .
advantages , no need for baffled sump to stop oil surge , and great oil...
if you want to watch one channel and record another then yes but you need multiple LNB connections (not sure how it works for flats )
i record mine via a media PC but i have tunner cards that give me 2 x freesat hd and 4 x freeview HD
Re: If I remove the ABS, is there an ABS ECU I can remove to stop the lights on the d
the reality is , on the road the abs is gonna save you more times than not , it should not interfere with road driving at all .
just pull the fuse on track days .
exactly , only a complete idiot would not have gone into officer training , having worked in an industry (telecoms) which is littered with ex military personnel and my wife being a defence contractor , the only people who act big or regurgitate war stories are uncle albert , or those who didn't...
well i would say having an issue with authority you'd have to be a few sandwiches short of a Greggs to join the army in the first place , therefore the rest of his comments are no surprise .
as for the OP he has a point , he did park badly himself but parking that close to someones car makes no...
Andrew , a friend of mine and the former owner of our 172 cup ;) the 599 and the 288 or not the only Ferrari's he has , and he has owned a string of Lamborghini's , now living back in the uk too
Lotus paint on elises and exiges is very very soft ,and the clearcoat layers are reasonably thick as well , having had a few that does look like fibreglass stressing , the panels really do become flexible when warm and you have to be really carful with them , about the toughest place is the roof...
if it has a miltek why remove it ? fair play if you want to remove the centre boxes (it was an option to have them or not) and change the tips (changed ours but like the ones you have ) but if you remove the cats to you will hate how annoying it starts to become .
though each to their own
Nothing wrong with trying to learn , the more you understand mechanically the better in my mind . But just for your own sanity and safety get a mate to help out , who understands what they are doing . or ask for advice and post pictures on here before .
best of luck , and no harm done this time .
and fwiw the 2000rpm idle plus lights on is limp mode , in case you didn't know .
other than that a little worried as your knowledge (or lack of could cause some serious damage to you or your car ) maybe even a basic haynes manual might help you , or get someone who knows what they are doing to...
James Talk to Simon at AMD in west byfleet , he is good on the B6 S4 because he ran his own for a long time if he still does't now ...
have to say i am impressed if your getting high 20's as we have only managed low 20's and less ,but ours is a cab .
oh and whats a limiter ;)
your kidding right ? i have done that and more in 2 years , you should have seen my mates VX220 with 54k in 12 months .
some of us cover big miles a year i know of 2 people who had trophy's as company cars when new
Get yourself over to XDA Devs forum if you like tweaking , not been there for a while as just been busy .
I tried an IOs phone after running android on my original windows 6.5 phone , and hated it , strangely i hated 7 phone too despite having owned a zune for years (which is where the layout...
garaged is often more expensive , ours is on the drive , no limited miles with business use added and we pay 720 , zero no claims as this was another additional car .
FWIW our S4 cabriolet is insured onthe same deal and this year quote me happy has it at £369 with 8 years NCD , and yes 43 but...
Nope Radio as well , however in reality you proberbly have another 8 years use out of your FM setup , but i can see this causing more of an issue than the TV situation .
obviously new cars will have dab radios as standard more commonly , and there are stand alone soloutions for DAB to add to...
