That list is just maintenence so will/would need doing anyway. Might be worth a second opinion on discs/pads etc. Just get the essential bits done and take it from there.
Why does it need a cambelt, your original post says it's had the belt done?
If you were to sell with a list of jobs like...
I don't think i've ever seen a car with a cover on the aux belt tbh. I'm sure some cars must have, but out of the 30+ i've owned and 50+ i've worked on I've never seen one.
You sure you can't get it with some decent mole/vice grips? Looks to be a good couple of mm free there. Failing that you could try some bolt/stud extractors. I have a set made by Irwin, but it only goes down to 10mm I think. They do sets with smaller ones though. They bite into the outside edge...
Clean and factory fresh (ish) is my preference these days. The only changes under the bonnet of mine at the minute are performance enhancing changes, nothing just for the looks. Here's how the S40 bay looks right now:-
Upgraded MAF to turbo intake pipe, relocated ECU (Yes, it's cable tied!)...
I'd imagine at that sort of mileage it is just a tired engine and it's burning oil. How much are you having to top it up by? It is possible for it to be burning but not be visible to you as blue smoke, it will just depend on how much is being burnt.
Look at it like this, if the oil level is...
Personally, I just use a Hozelock standard hose. Can't say I have any issues with it kinking really. Just be careful of the length on that one you've linked, it's only 15m. if your tap is on the back of the house 15m might not be long enough.
The one I have is 25m and it's only just long...
That's £4.5k! lol
Missing services, servicing is 12k or 12 months whichever comes first so should still be done every year regardless of low miles.
Belts need doing (+£600)
Awful seats (personal opinion)
Low spec (because CUP)
That's worth half that price in my opinion.
I'd rather buy one...
Fuel filter is 144,000 miles and is part of the fuel pump. It's unlikely to be that.
My advice would be not to guess using bits of advice from the internet. Get it looked at by someone with the tools and knowledge to do the job. It WILL save you money in the long run.
You could spend £200...
Nope, all the 225/230 meganes had the same sort of set-up. The only difference with the R26 was the LSD.
All 197/200's and all Megane 225/230's had the same sort of hub set up
All 197's and 200's had the revo-knuckle type hub carriers.
197 cup chassis was shocks and springs, red calipers and anthracite wheels
200 cup chassis was shocks and springs, quicker steering rack, red calipers, anthracite wheels and I think anti-roll bar was thicker.
Why do you have an LSD anyway? Seems overkill on a 200 unless boosted!
I wasn't specifically saying for this issue, just the whole lot in general. You've posted about a poor idle speed, puling to the left, and now this. Seems a lot to be dealing with on a 2011 car.
lol @ mute
Have we really had mapping SO bad that it's caused catastophic damage? Was the owner able to prove and do anything about it? (was it yours @Cub.?)
It's a 182, with one of the cup packs, but not the other. But that's a bit of a mouth full, so 182 will do.
Even Full Fat isn't a proper term. You couldn't walk into Renault and ask to buy a 182 FF.
I think there's a bit of jumping to conclusions going on in here!
Theres no way of us knowing why it's burning oil at this stage, it could be rings yes, but it could be a multitude of other thigs too.
@alex1992 - if you aren't mechanically minded my suggestion would be to get the car to a...
I used to use a PC connected to my TV as a media centre. It was great, worked well etc but the PC was too noisy. In the end I moved to my current set-up with my PC in the garage working as a server for Plex and my TV is a Samsung Smart with Youtube, a browser etc etc all built in.
Don't...
So that means you can only use text speak does it? I know plenty of dyslexic people and they all manage to type a readable sentence.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand, do you have any more info to give or are we meant to magically resolve it with what we have?
Clutch may not have been changed, it will depend on how it's been treated. A clutch can do 200k+ if treated with repect, hammer it all the time then <50k.
What was the noise like on idle. Was it like the video, sounding a bit like a diesel or was it more of a ticking noise? The injectors are...
2 things, we need to know more information. Firstly, has it always done this, just started, is the servicing up to date etc? Can you describe the problem any better?
Secondly, please for the love of god type properly! The harder it is to read the less likely you are to get a reply.
It's only the pads that are brembo as far as I can see. It's just clever wording making you think it's the discs too. They're probably cheap discs that have been machines.
Avoid and speak to the trader on here that sells discs and pads (his names escapes me, someone will be along soon)
I was going to post about this! Either it wasn't a 535d or it was broken. Even the older ones are 400+ lb-ft of torque and 70+ is what they are good at.
