I think it varies by manufacturer. On Volvo's both the hazard and brake lights flash. Why have you been braking hard enough to activate the system though? Not something you should need to do on a regular basis!

If anything, the 197 is FAR more over engineered than the 1*2. The swivel hubs for example, 4 pot brakes etc etc.

2 'box rebuilds and 3 crank sensors in 10k?! Something not right there! Most of the other stuff is wear and tear you'd expect on those miles, clutch, TRE's etc. But........ i'd have given up at the point of it needing the second 'box rebuild - you must love it!
