Honestly mate, all I can think of is that one of the cams is 360 out as both lots of calves shouldn’t be open that much together.

I had none of that left on mine mate. Used to flap around like f**k.

Cup racers ran magneti marelli ecu’s and dash’s. They also ran a coil pack instead of cop as it was more reliable

I’ve got one in the garage so I’ll have a look mate. My R3 maxi spec engine ran on standard mk3 plugs without issue.

I’m pretty sure the crank sensor is the same mate, but there’s 2 types from memory. The plugs on the mk3 are also the 3 prong type. Put a pic up and I’ll confirm on the crank sensor.

You’ve got the cams 180 out mate. The little half moons should be at the top on the cams when you put the timing tool in.

Did you turn the bottom end over after you’d built it up? As in before the cylinder head went on.

I also opted for a Quaife over a gripper when I had my cup............and I rebuild boxes! Lol!!! My Quaife decision was because I cbfa taking a gearbox out of a mk2. Whilst a gripper offers significant benefits, it didn’t out weigh my bone idleness. ?
