Ben H: No, I had Kwik Fit stand underneath the car while I tokk it near the limiter...Im pretty sure its the 172 4k buzzing problem. I had it replaced about 2 months after having the car - it came back!
Not too concerned about the MOT as I have another 22 months before that - its more to do...
Sounds a bit OTT because of an hour - I would imagine that they would deem it acceptable for a car to be given back to a customer an hour later than planned......
Perhaps they had too much work on and they were looking for an excuse to turn people away - or maybe they were mid w**k.....;) and...
Well, thats the situation. Im aware that the cat is about £800 - based upon people paying £200ish @ a 20% contribution.... What should I do? A de-cat would be the cheapest option but there is the problem of the "post" lambda sensor - isnt there? Ive also got the twin cat exhaust.... Spoke...
Soo.. the CBR600 is the crock of the pack :o which means that if you had a very long road, like the M1, with full tanks of fuel, the V6 would leave the CBR for dead - even from a standing start ... although that might have something to do with the bike running out of juice... ;)
LOL @ CUPSIZE...
I dont reckon any clio except the V6 can "compete" with a CBR600 thats being battered in 6th.....anyone know what the bikes top speed in that scenario is? I think someone has got 155 out of their V6.......
Sounds like theyre no better than clios on the open road.......unfortunately Ive never been around one that wanted to play
Never thought to hang back to look at what the other car looks like tho ..... good idea!
Ben
Ill try and get some pics - It was a crap description.....
When you talk about movement do you mean by hand or when the engine is running and being revved...?

Noticed a small smear of oil from around the area of the plastic blanking cap (camshaft?) on the RHS of the engine when facing the front of the car. It looks like it might have got there from the rocker cover gasket (?)....Anyone else had this...did a search and found a Capn Slarty response...
Over an hour via dial-up, but thats what I call empirical testing..:o ..266kph
What I want to know is was the bike filming the events the GSX-R600 or was it the other one....
*edit* Although I reckon the bike filming could have had the M5 if the road was clear...
Ivan: The rider was holding back for the very reason that Matt has mentioned.
All: The comparison I have made was the best he and I could achieve with the road conditions that presented themselves. I was only trying to provide some empirical evidence for you all to read so we could discuss...
Off the line you know what happened - however...
Between around 90-!20/!35 with the CBR restricted to 5th gear it was pretty evenly matched......except on the bends where his commitment wavered due to experience.....
Not overly keen on the looks but you can get a Cooper S specced up the same as a 172 for 16.8k and then do that Hartage conversion that EVO have got for 1.5k +VAT.....
Sounds like its quick but its in a different price league to the Clios. The Cup is the best bang for buck at the mo I reckon...
JJ, call RUK and ask THEM how much warranty you have left - you might find it more than two years, but probably slightly less than 3....that was my experience...
Arjun
Are you in London? I only as because I once had to work hard to keep up with a green clio that definitely wasnt a valver on the A406 heading towards Edmonton...
The car never fails to give me a real buzz - the only problem with it is that it needs a hard run to get it performing at its best. At least mine does!
:D
