still a steel pipe as far as i'm aware, the only flex on the rear is as i said between body & axle on the n/s. unless the 182 is different, never looked underneath one yet.
just as bad!
went to work at 6am. had to go to lower brailes (nr. shipston on stour) and fit an injector pump to a bus parked in a field!
went home bout 12.30 had a coffee then went and fell out with my clio's decat. that was a wanker then driving it out, the garage door blew shut on the car...
yup, just took 'em off and had a look
might just elongate the top hole and a set of camber correcting bolts would make up for any hand wobbles
cheers edde :)
i'm sticking with a faulty thermostat or a blockage/airlock in the system. you could try taking out the heater matrix and seeing if its blocked or damaged
i take it you mean thermostat, its still worth taking it out and checking its closed when its cold. also did the system get bled properly, do the top & bottom pipes on the rad get nice & hot. also do the pipes into and out of the heater matrix get hot?
i know the 172 ph1 & 182 are different. the ph1 i think is 52mm and the 182 is 56mm. bolt spaceing. but thats as much as i know. i've just asked a similar question too :o
i use stretch boots (gaiters) these days. much easier, cut of the old one and fit the new one with a cone type thing or air expander and plenty of grease, the cheapo cone type fitters are only about a tennner
shared use of a unit. i am a truck fitter officially but i am doing more & more cars at my unit at the moment. i'm getting more & more tempted to do it full time & kick the other bloke out of the unit
it may not have been actually runnning, just freewheeling untill you stopped, you would'nt have heared anything on that engine if the belt failed it would have just bent a few valves out of the way and probably n ot by much either. the starter motor sound different 'cos there is no compression...
