Braided rear brake lines - 172/182?!?

Is there are specific reason why the braided rear brake lines replace the section before the rear beam and not the hose actually going to the caliper?

Does the hose connected to the rear caliper not suffer from expansion too?!?

Hm, correct me if im wrong but the rear brakes are hardly used under heavy braking right? And its not like replacing that large section of rubber hose I'snt gonna give a large performance boost.


However I'd like to know why aswell cause it is a little odd

Fred told me that the rear ines are perfecty strong enough for the amount of pressure going through them - would be pointless upgrading those ones

eeerm..
the rear brake hose is between the body & axle.
the one to the caliper is a pipe. ie. solid

Sorry should have said the hose that descends up to the rigid pipe - doh

still a steel pipe as far as i'm aware, the only flex on the rear is as i said between body & axle on the n/s. unless the 182 is different, never looked underneath one yet.
