Would make the descision of a heavy 255bhp V6 or a lighter 225 turbo a little harder.
I think if they finally did produce a turbod Clio it would leave the V6 in the dark.
My clutch was PROPER mangled, it wedged itself against the inspection plate and wouldt allow the engine to start.
Eventually I begged Mr Clutch to sort it, as they dont normally work on cars that arent running. Amazingly enough - they did the whole clutch change in 2 and a half hours! Just...
Nice, what sort of speeds you hitting?
I have another thread about some one with a Nova 2.0 turbo with simular power, from a 1.4 thats most impressive!
What do you lot reckon Id get for a 92 k plate blue valver, 104kish, had a new gear box, getting new clutch tomorrow, 17" fox 6 premiers, lowered 35mm by bb tuning, stainless piper back box, piper-x induction, RRd @ 136.5 bhp - told thats good for a car of this age and millage. Got some coloured...
Im only looking at around 170 - 180 bhp. I reckon thats within reason?
Dont wanna start having to spend thousands on new turbos and sronger components if I dont need to.
But then, I know nothing!
Ill prob go off the idea in a week, I just get bored all the time and start to wonder what else I can do.
Ive only ever had a 1.4 rt and a Valver, I only drove a turbo car yesterday for the first time. Ive been driving for 5 years!!
I blew my clutch the other day, so little dis-heartened!
What are the GTTs like compared to Clio Valvers?
Im itchin for some turbo power, but are they better or worse?
All I can tell is pounds for power they seem to be easier to tune?
Mr clutch - £293.52 parts, labour and VAT.
Would assume a warranty as well, got it booked for 9am, they reckon 5 hours labour. Have to go and sit an Carnisseur for a couple of hours and try not to buy anything.
Finally smiling, a bit.
Mine went last night, one minute Im excellerating in second the next it wont go in to 3rd. Or any other gear come to think of it.
It only goes in gear when the engines not running.
I had the engine on a while then gave it a rest then back on but I think having the sidelights and hazards on for so long did it. There were no signs the clutch was gonna go and Im sure the bloke I bought the car from had it done just over a year ago.
With the RAC - they sent a van within 45...
Clutch totally went last night had to wait 3 hours for a tow truck to pick me up.
The battery went flat and I had no heaters either.
Any one know what a reasonable price is for a repair - BB charge £372 + VAT which will really break the bank, theyre too far away as well so cant go there any...
First sign its gone is water in your oil causing a white paste sort of stuff to develop in/around your oil filler. Also check the water bottle for oil in there.
In worse cases can lead to compression losses in cylinders (this is if the gaskett has broken down between cylinders)
Can cause...
Put my wheels on the valver and nearly took the rear calipers off. I put some 17mm spacers on that are too big and now its lowered the wheels rub like mad.
Bought some 6mm spacers the other day but due to my neighbours having at least 6 cars parked all over the place (half of which are...
Nah not been to any arranged meets, my mate has a 2.0 16v Nova for sale - might look bad but it dont half go some!
Whats this other Clio in Chadwell look like then?
Im from Chadwell St Mary mate, do you ever go round the industrial estate bit in Bas Vegas where every one goes racing?
I got my amp and Sub nicked in Basildon so not so keen to leave the car there any more!
Your engine bay looks mint, I love a clean tidy engine, shame I havent got one.
£1,200 is a ridiculous price - Im sure I read a message from Nick Hill on here that he had one for £900 and would supply and fit it for £1,100.
Buy a private engine and it should be quite cheap, saw one on Ebay for about £600.
