I'm sure they'd do them in fibreglass mate. The quality is also second to none so you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference with a quick coat of spray on newness. It will be harder to find a original one than buy the cm composites one as well mate.
A full cage will weigh less than the 2 front seats combined mate. Most simple cages come in at around 35kgs max and the front seats weigh in at about 20+kgs.
Yes it really is that minimal mate. not normal dan will confirm just how stripped my car and loom is too.
Yeah everything that was removed was individually weighed and noted down. I've got it somewhere, but my house is currently filled with boxes packed with stuff ready for moving so it could be anywhere.
I even cut down redundant parts of the dash support cage. FYI when you pair down the looms you...
If it's the one I'm thinking of, it sounds like your brake servo pipe and *should* just pull off with a bit of persuasion. Get a pic up if you can and I'll confirm 100%.
If your painting your inlet use etch primer first, then whatever colour you like mate. Make sure you use petrol resistant...
When I stripped my cup out I weighed everything that wasn't going back in and the grand total was 122kg. Obviously weight was put back in from the cage and seats, but I could offset that by replacing various panels with f/g parts and more than likely lose a small amount of extra weight.
I cut...
I've had the misfortune of fitting a non genuine/non gates belt kit. NEVER again. Here's my reason why: the belt was ridiculously tight to get on, almost impossible. I had to remove one of the idler rollers to get the belt over the rest of the pulleys, then pull like f**k to get the idler roller...
Quite annoying that! Especially as I normally embed them but I was being lazy! Lol! Cheers. Got a few others on the gopro still to load up, but they were all traffic/accident strewn.
Ah just seen your edit mate after I've pm'd you. Lol! It's not going to fit unless you get different brackets as my cage is 45mm diameter so needed the larger size.
The adjustment is 0-2.5".
Yeah it's a 14" with mounting brackets. Brand new and unused. The smallest diameter rollcage it fits is 43mm, so if you measure up first and let me know I'll Pm you a price. Seeing as your not the usual forum muppet I'm happy to do sale or return as well (providing it doesn't come back with a...
I'd just use the spherical bearing kit from pure motorsport and alter the fittings to allow for adjustable caster tbh. I don't think I'll ever see an issue from worn cup racer bushes though tbh, although I've already got some replacement bushes and holders sorted out at the machine shop.
