In all honesty, I can't complain about my inlets as I paid £150 for them second hand. If I had paid £175, exchange, I may not be sat on the other side of the fence.
LOL
I remember reading an article in Lax Power when I was younger. It featured an Ecosse 306 Sedan 3 door. The car had custom door mirrors fitted, the caption under the photo said 'Ecosse mirrors, proven to give 10bhp across the rev' range', a lad reading the article with me picked the phone...
AFAIK, they were mainly fitted to 182's. One or two later 172's had one fitted although I doubt they would have even been in existence when a Y plate car was released.
It is pot luck though to an extent.
As I said, it depends what you want and what you expect.
For me, every mod so far has been with the intention of improving mid-range torque, the inlet added to that.
If you approach the inlet with the mindset that it will add 10bhp top end, you may well be disappointed.

There is no inadvertent humour to speak of. People expect to achieve everything for nothing and are somewhat deluded by the figures and quotes banded about on here.
Ignorance is bliss, until you hand over your cash and the reality hits home. The gains (to an extent) are there, just not...
I have an RS tuning remap, Janspeed sports cat', custom exhaust, phase 1 airbox and panel and Ben's inlets.
I haven't had it RR'd since the mods but standard it kicked out 171bhp. It now walks 172's and 182's so there has been a gain somewhere.
I was slightly dismayed by the inlets as there...
Turn up on their doorstep and tell them you will QC it yourself there and then. Any issues can then be spotted and sorted. That should get things moving and you will know the exact situation with the car.
That's just the speed limiter. Try and stay away from it. You can have it raised if you have the car remapped but you should change before you get to that point anyway.
Always drill pilot holes. It may be worth drilling the holes in the splitter slightly bigger just to ensure it doesn't crack.
A friend of mine fitted a Laguna splitter a few years ago and used 2p's with a hole drilled through as washers, worked a treat.
What do you mean by 'cut the heads...
The revs rise and then all of a sudden they just stop as if they have hit a limit. It will sound something like ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.
Or do you mean the car won't accelerate past a certain speed?
