I've fitted oil level and temperature already, but I've used the mk1 sender (which does both) into where the mk2 sender for the oil temp goes
with oil level to the left
very trick gauges to have! :D
I'm planning to put in a t-piece with both attached
Reason is, although the oil pressure guage is more useful, I'd be far more likely to notice a big red light on the dash than if the gauge were to drop to 0...
the gauge is sometimes hidden by the steering wheel, based on how you're sitting :D...
Interested in the thread info for the oil pressure switch, as i need to wire up my oil pressure guage.... dunno why they got rid of them in the mk2, one of the best guages in the mk1!
I'm just going through options of what to do with the knocking bottom end
regrind the crank.. again...
2nd hand bottom end
2nd hand crank
or even a new crank if the price was reasonable
you read the head rebuild thread and saw the vids yeh? massive bottom end knock...
I've plonked a 172 engine into a mk1 and I'm using the 172 (ph1?) manifold with a custom downpipe
thing is, its blowing massively... its *slightly* out of line... by a few degrees maybe... but this shouldnt be an issue has the engine rocks anyway....
but the downpipe join im using comes...
corrected
wonder what it's like to be only 19, yet hated by so many (some of whom might be willing to physically inflict it on him) - in that he's not even willing to post on a forum, in a shroud of debt and to be utterly incapable of the profession he states to be in (although he doesn't...
I'll try and get a proper audio recording of it tomorrow then, see if we can properly diagnose it...
it's not a nice sound though :(
whats different about the espace BE? I thought just the heads were different :o
it was water damaged..but I only found that out after buying :( (I knew it was knocking, just not the cause)
Dan has photos of the whole bottom end apart so I assume he fitted new bearings, but who knows with him... his shoddy workmanship is so apparent in th engine...
funny how he is still...
