I am wanting to fit the new Clio badge to my 172 but require a few measurements.
I need the width and height of each letter if possible and also the width of the vetrical on the 'C' and the same on the 'O'.
I need these details as I have to ensure the pin holes left by the current badge will...
I know but was hoping I would be able to space the letters accordingly.
How big are the holes and how far apart are they? Are the pins attached to the badge or does the badge attach to pins which you then have to remove?
I know what you mean mate but looking at picture 2, I can't help but think that the bootlid would be left bare with only 1 badge on the right.
Cheers bud. Just going with the flow with all these rep's about these days.
Cheers Phil, it is chrome. From what I remember, S22 JGS sprayed his a bronze colour.
See here for better pictures of the car Mikey, taken last week: http://cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=211830
And a quick side profile, just for you flower.
My invoice states unit price: £16.47, Net...
What measurements do you need Ad', is it the length of the badge and the average gap between the spaces?
From what i have read, the new badge won't cover the pins left by the Clio badge as the spacing is predetermined by the card template provided with the badge, S22 tried it IIRC.
Picked the new badge up today. I paid the bargainous price of £17.25 all inc. I've added a little timeline below as I also removed the factory fitted number plate carrier. What a mess that has made of the paintwork where it has rubbed and vibrated.
Quite possibly, on here or on Piston Heads but I always like to think of the wider market. I always like to consider, if my mum was buying a car, would she be happy to buy this one? Traditionally, members on here like to pay rock bottom for everything and people in the know, know what things...
Ah, I getcha. I still think the brown bread would be a good idea. I hear Hovis Farmhouse Multigrain does a good job. They even deliver it in a CTR :rasp: .
To be honest mate, unless you pick up a 182 manifold for peanuts (£50.00), then I wouldn't bother. The manifold alone doesn't give the 10bhp gain quoted, as said it is nearer 3-4bhp. This is due to the fact that Renault gradually improved the quality of the inlet manifold casts during 172/182...
IMO, do it. If it is done properly ie. wings and not botched bumpers (no offence meant Jamie, Immi), the parts will be very easy to re-sell when you wish to put back to standard. Plus, things like Cup spoilers (Trophy/V6 even more so) and splitters will always be worth the money as will CS'...
Black 172, 2x silver 76mm CAF trupmets twinned directly beneath the front plate, 8 inch deep sideskirts which must scrape like a badgers arse, 17'' wheels similar to those on ClarkieV6's motor but these look wrong, 2x 6'' cans in the same location as a 182, 2x 5'' cans exiting at 45 degrees away...
Get it done man, who will notice less than 1kg of foam tape.
Another idea would be to vacuum the inside of the door panels, rear three quarters and tailgate. Any small pieces of dirt/gravel that have worked their way in can easily resonate inside without dropping through the drainage holes.
Is it a fine rattly vibration or is it a serious shake yer' fillings out job?
If it is the former, I had an issue at about 4k. It turned out that one of the manifold to cat' sprung bolts was loose and was making a right racket.
