Specs taken from the Samco site:
Bore Bore Wall thickness Leg length
70mm 2 3/4" 5.0mm 125mm
To be used in conjunction with the standard airbox on a Mk2 172.
Will the leg length be sufficient and could I vent the oil breather to the atmosphere?
As Pete said, the Trophy struts are about £60 each from a stealer and the V6 around £135 each or so I have been told.
I can get them from the scrappers for peanuts, if I pay at all.
Would it help if you disconnected the battery overnight after a change in fuel type prompting the ECU into learn mode?
Or does the Clio not have this facility?
The reason you have the warm air pumped onto the carb is to prevent carb freezing during the cold winter months. This will cause cause your fuel jets to freeze over with lots of poor running meaning you have to pull over and wait for them to defrost.
Looks good though, you just may need to...
Common sense would say that a higher RON fuel should burn quicker and more efficiently than a lower RON fuel. However there are alot of tales of higher RON fuels degrading so that they may leave a refinery as a 98 but by the time they have been sat for a few weeks and reach your fuel rail they...
I am about to fit a V6 spoiler to my 172 but I need the shorter struts.
Would one of you kind ladies or gentlemen be able to measure your boot srtuts for me at full extension and also the length of the silver piston and black sleeve.
I feel a scrap yard raid coming on LOL.
Thanks in advance.
Got a V6 spoiler in the shed. I can get the part number for you if you know where it is on the spoiler itself.
Trying to get hold of some V6 struts or alternatively, find out the length of full extension then I'm going to raid a scrap yard.
I RAC'd the private plate and it came out as being a '99 S3 which would make it 210bhp.
I was 4 up though which really suprised me as I was considerably quicker.
He was definately trying.
Though I have done a 180bhp Leon and A3 Quattro in my old 2.0 16v Chavalier in the past so they may be a...
What about the standard Mk2 airbox Day? Can this be as good. I have a PiperX panel filter. I am planning to replace the lower feed and route it to just behind the lower bumper grille. The feed to the right will simply be replaced with better ducting and have the valve removed. Would you rate...
Anyone got photos of this bumper scoop? I am trying to find something subtle without having to cut my bumper etc.
Meggerman, how is it going with that custom airbox? I have tried PM'ing but your inbox is full.
If you retained your standard springs and dampers would you not just be retaining your standard 182 setup. I am not exactly sure what the subtle differences were but am pretty sure those 2 components would play a large part.
Could you not have the geometry set up as per a cup?
Sorry Eves, I borrowed your picture. Your car is well tidy. I just can't decide between Turinis or Superlegerras.
Can someone 'shop 17'' Superlegs onto this for me so I can compare.
Here you go mate, not the best shots in the world but you get the idea.

Very poor after shot:
They're a set of these, advertised as Silvatec but they're not. Once in though you can't tell the difference. Cheap as well...
Air filter change, new plugs, a bottle of injector cleaner (maybe not a full bottle, enough to mix with £8 of fuel though LOL). Generally a good service.
Ahh, cheers John. I knew I was being a Div. It was dark and I can't say that I had a proper look.
What are the sizes of the speakers/tweets fronts and rears of a Clio?
What are the grilles all about next to the parcel shelf?
Probably a stoooopid question. I had a quick look tonight and thought I could hear the music coming from either side of the parcel shelf. On inspection I found some strange ribbed plastic panels covering a sponge insert but no speakers.
Am I being slack?
To be honest, if your radiator is split you need to replace it or have it fixed. I don't like the thought of firing something through my engine that 'magically' repairs holes in your radiator. Think about what else it does to your coolant system and how it can restrict coolant flow.
New...
How much is a stupidly low price?
If it is a stupid price, buy it, spend an hour stripping it and assesing the damage and if it is a mule, 'bay it. Look what that wrecked 172 was fetching.
I don't think you can go wrong.
The shell must be twisted for a dent to appear in the roof and the entire windscreen to shatter like that. Also, llok at the head on shot of the engine bay. The N/S turret is sat back but the O/s turret is almost pointing at the camera indicating the entire inner wing is pushed back.
A...
May be relevant, may be not. When I was driving my Cavalier, I noticed that my dash was lit up one morning before I set off for Uni'. All lights, ABS, airbag, ECU etc. I thought as it was cold, icey and wet that there was a bit of moisture somwhere. After a week of driving and around 200...
This one has a small silencer style jobbie in the middle and 2 lambda probe fixings so am I going to get the errors?
I was going to offer £75 notes, am I going a bit high?
