So this pipe:
Is the crankcase breather as I first suspected?
If that is the case I will vent it and seal the inlet as emissions are only tested from the exhaust and not the entire car.
Less dirty gasses means more o2 meaning better combustion. Superb.
I have been looking into this and from what I have read, sealed IK's are not worth the extra expense over a modded standard box.
I have a PiperX panel and have just got 7' of aluminium ducting. I intend to remove the lower airbox feed and route a hose to just behind the lower bumper grille...
I need to make sure I remember your car is fuel injected as I don't want Lunner pulling me up again LOL.
It won't do your car any harm in all honesty though it won't give any noticeable improvements if you haven't made any changes eg. induction kit (although you have recently judging by your...
I was given a link on Migweb to a site that sold the components of gas struts so you could make your own.
However, the V6 spoiler in my shed has a slight mark where it caught Daves roof. From this, i could measure at what extension the spoiler would catch the roof and what length struts we...
If you really wanted to keep it you could fix with a bit of time and effort.
Is it worth it though?
Nice cheap 16v donor after your payout. Buy it back for £13.47 and keep it alongside a new motor and slowly turn it into an animal.
That's a plan.
I normally just pull the +ve connector off of the battery and leave it overnight. Not sure how you could get around the alarm issue though. It should work if you leave it for an hour or two so you could do it during the day.
Just read your other post. I guess I would have found that out when I blocked it LOL.
How does the pipe affect the ISCV then, does it draw air or feed air into the inlet?
Functions are:
Top 2 buttons - Change source to the left and change source to the right.
Volume up and down.
Roller on the back - Track/station backwards and forwards.
Button on the bottom - Skip disc when using multi-changer
That's promising then I suppose in that you didn't realise there was an issue until you found it. I think I might block it temporarily and see what happens.
Parkers give the 210 0-60 in 6.6 and the 225 0-60 in 6.4.
My 136bhp Cavalier was just quicker than both a 180bhp A3 Quattro and a 180bhp Leon cupra. That is a deficit of 44bhp in what I would think was a lighter car.
With the Clio at approx 169bhp, that would give a deficit of 41bhp, again in...
I'm 99% certain this was the bore diameter I read this morning, though I can't remember my source.
Did you notice any difference in running during the time the hose wasn't connected?
As said, I have removed this, sealed it and vented the hose on a couple of previous cars without an issue I...
The pipe which connects at 90 degrees to the inlet elbow? I haven't investigated this fully yet but I have slight oily deposits coming from this into my intake so presumed this would be the rocker cover breather pipe.
Dave, try whip your battery +'ve off overnight. This should revert you back to your base map and put your ECU into 'learn mode'. This will then allow the car to make changes to account for the the setup instantly as the transition will be more prolonged otherwise.
This is true of Vauxhalls...
That's the one. I bought my spoiler from D4ve F for a cracking price but he warned me of the price on struts, even though he didn't think they were needed.
We need this information to save other poor souls from the wrath of the Stealer. £152.75 for 2 gas struts is obscene. A scrap yard would...
This was a '99 S3 so will have been a 210. The back end was rather low so he may have had passengers but I was 4 up as well.
Still, I wasn't impressed considering I was going to save for one.
I bet they are killer in the wet though.
The 70mm bore Samco hose has a 5mm wall thickness which I would imagine to be extremely tough thus eliminating distortion.
gh172, I have been asking the question, on a couple of my previous cars, I have vented the oil breather pipe, do you think it would be an issue if I did the same on the 172?
I am currently researching this subject as I am looking to use a piece of universal Samco hosing if it is possible.
The benefit of the silicone bend is that it allows a much smoother flow of air into the inlet manifold over the standard ribbed pipe. Furthemore, the silicone bend will not...
