I had an Ecotek fitted to my old 1.4 16v Clio and at first it did seem like the car ran that bit better, but the annoying sucking noise never died down, filtering it was of no use and it does all seem a bit half baked. As I mentioned before, if you want to save money on petrol, drive your cars...
lol! Most of it is actually going on about whether a diesel 306 HDi will beat a Valver. BTW, in the initial videos of me against Craggy, I had a broken Catalytic Convertor blocking my exhaust. It is actually neck and neck between the VTS and the Willy.

I dont know what the Willy is like compared to the 16v, but compared to my MK2 172 is seems very similar. Last night I blue-tacked a digital camera to my dashboard pointing at the speedo and had a go at some 60mph runs. Despite freezing temperatures, wet roads and a full tank of bog standard...
abbs - no, Ive moved down to Hillsborough. Living right opposite Hillsborough park and very near the stadium. Perfect for laughing at pissed off Wednesday fans as they walk past after losing. :D How about a drive over to Donny to let Craggy have a pop at a Cup?!
Rhys
Cheers...you "sound" more normal now. I might well be tempted by a 172 or a Cup again, but Im extremely happy with the Williams at the moment. Will probably wait until I can afford to run a 172 along side the Willy.

Just a de-cat. The exhaust system has been very badly fitted and needs to go back for attention, but it is just a standard system apart from the cat.

Eddd - I did say "when room available"! And its yes it is just a car, one that I dont want to have to keep forking out £80 to have dents pulled out of it. So there! ;)
Craggy - yup, Id agree. It is very very close to high speeds and I think even if going up to 130mph there wouldnt be much in it. BTW, I notice that saxosportsclub.co.uk are not so interested in the result this time round :o;)
Rhys
Since getting the Williams Ive been using 2 parking spaces to park in (if the room has been available). Selfish, yes, but.....ummm.....I dont care! Every car Ive ever had has ended up with dents in the door caused by careless idiots and it is NOT going to happen to the Willy.
Rhys
visceral - wow.....will have to go and get some of that special Shell 79% Nitrogen air.... ;). Id even pay extra if it has 20% oxygen and 1% inert gasses!
Theyve put my insurance up to £1488 (well, last payment is £124). I did a quote online and they quoted £799. I like it how they treat loyal customers....not.

Mines on 81k now, but 64k was done by the first owner in the cars first 3 years. He sold it right before the 1st MOT was due and then the last owner has only done 15k in 4 years....think Ill probably end up doing a fair bit more than that!!!
Rhys
There is quite a good Zetec S forum @ http://www.zetecs.comwww.zetecs.com. I think theyd probably admit that theyd get smoked by a Cup or any 172 for that matter. Although I notice someone has turbod one!
Had the de-cat done. The cat was indeed totally bust and a large chunk of honeycomb stuff was blocking the exhaust system. The car is much, much quicker now :D:devilish:. Been out playing with a stopwatch and timed myself at approx. 17.5 seconds to 100mph a couple of times....with a passenger in...
Yes, I reckon 1st & 2nd will still be quite even. Looking at Adis AP22 time to 60, if mine is owt like that it should be close to the VTS.....but if I can get anything like 18 seconds to 100 I will be very pleased.
Rhys
k - Dont fancy dragging a 81000 mile williams across the continent! I was intending to get a de-cat anyway, but will be taking the knackered one back and asking for some moolah back!
Rob / Steve - I dont know what you mean. I definitely have a dead cat on my Willy and I cant get it off until...
Just had the car looked at and it turns out the cat is broken and restricting the engine (more than usual), hence me finding the high rev part of the acceleration less than satisfactory, and possibly accounting (along with my poor driving) for my losing to Craggys VTS. De-cat on monday, and then...
Adi - is it possible to get the AP22 to measure in smaller increments than 10mph? Would be interesting to see every 1mph (particularly how quick up to 57mph and the change from 2nd to third...or wherever the 16v gearbox goes up to)
Rhys
The small engined clios are fun to own and drive...the 206 isnt . After my (mercifully) short lived experience of owning a 206 GTi, I would go as far as to say that theyre not decent cars!
