You mean not having an airbag? When I spoke to my MOT man about it he said it wouldn't be a problem as long as the airbag light wasn't on, its down to interpretation
I was going to try to hide the wires but it quickly became apparent it wasn't going to happen.
Using the original switches...
Lol, I know this car. Its in my parents village and has sat on the drive for at least the past 6 years. I always had a good chuckle at it every time I went past.
Finally got round to sorting my cruise control after fitting a new steering wheel.
Used this mount - http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/steering-wheel-bosses-accessories/sparco-steering-wheel-buttons and some extra buttons from ebay.
I can do a guide if anyone is interested.
I swap mine every couple of months. This means theres never a big difference between two to avoid any possible oversteer issues.
I think you'll be fine swapping them but don't come running to me if you've parked it in a hedge!
They won't come out - ever. I managed to move mine enough so the bearing could be replaced with no problem. Just moving one took a few hours and much swearing. I'm not even sure if its a problem fitting a bearing with them in place anyway.
My GF's did this, you can get a repair kit from ebay that has the cable and associated parts. Its takes a bit of working out how it all goes together but if your mechanically minded its not that hard.
Was about £20 I think.
The aux belt has an automatic tensioner, it may be seized. If this is the case it points to it not being changed when the cambelt was done (if the cambelt was done at all)
I don't know of a way of checking cambelt idlers - I'd get everything changed ASAP
Im doing this at the mo. Using a sparco mount with 2 buttons on already, will add the other 2 myself (from tweaks) The problem is they aren't normal switches, they use a resistor to show a resistance to the ECU. You need 910, 275 and 100 ohm resistors, the other is a straight switch so no...
Hard to tell from the pic but I'd say you need to put more paint on in one coat so it flows better.
I'm a paint engineer but I only paint cars at 21 degrees and 65% humidity and with 8 robots!
It could be contamination in the paint or on the surface.
Different diameter tyres front to rear will confuse the traction control/ESP.
A mate of mine ran 888's on the front and T1r's on the rear of a puma. Despite me telling me he'd put it in a hedge it was fine, even when pushing.
Whiteley ran slicks on the front with semi-slicks on the back of...
