... solved!
was pootling around the other day in my 172, and there was a faint knocking/tapping/rattling.
it was driving me mad. (i'm like that).
anyway, stopped car and thumped the dash til i could hear the rattle.
it was the wires behind the blanking plate. (console illumination...
Spotted over the water, (aka the Wirral) Prenton, near the Swan pub yesterday.
Anyone off've here?
Mk1. Looked well tasty. Excuse the crappy picture quality; I zoomed in and was in a rush to meet a mate for pub lunch
ABS works all the time, unless you pull out the relay.
Do you never brake harshly; has no one EVER pulled out on you? Even braking hard on a potholed road means the ABS kicks in
Cadence braking is easy, but to be fair I'd trust ABS before my own cadence braking in an emergency
Took out a new insurance policy with Kwik-Fit, they were the cheapest.
Anyway, I put down that I had 1 yr NCD, they asked for proof. So I got on to my previous insurers, Norwich Union. They sent me out a letter saying '3 yrs NCD representing, %'.
So I've sent this off to the Kwit-Fit...
If I'd had the cash I'd have spent a couple of grand extra and bought a ctr rather than my 172. Only the cost and generally poverty spec of the ctr deterred me
Definitely talent and hard work has paid off mate. I used to do Art and CDT A Levels, so lots of technical drawing and more of the la-dee-dah-stuff, I was pretty good at the time; not a patch on your stuff though.
So clean and tidy, great stuff.
been around for a while now. bald guy off've the gadget show tested it yonks ago; it works well, but not in strong light. bit pricey too.. and you'd look a t1t using it
earth strap? All connections need checking, cleaning, wet and drying if need be. Get your battery to halfrauds or the like; they'll test it for free. Don't buy a batt' unless you need one.
I got a cheapo one from GSF recently. Good luck mate.
Next time we'll all buy Hondas!
My locking wheel bolt snapped on the front wheel about 6 months ago. Worried me a little at first, but soon forgot about it.
Hasn't presented a problem since.
VW Scirroco GT II. What a car,.. stuck a new rad and front strut on it,.. then the clutch went, so flogged it. What a car though... 1.8 carb, VW engines rock!
Sounds exactly like what happened to my 172 a while back.
Turned out to be an HT lead. Outside of warranty, so the car went to a local indie. Spare HT off a donor car and £50 cash later (inlet manifold out job) and I was back on the road
Reckon it's a facelift for global sales; in the less developed countries were the clio III is too expensive to sell well.
Probably compliments the Renault Logan in a range in Africa or the like.
