By the looks of those power and weight figures I think youre right. Hard to believe a little thing like that weighs 950kg! There was an article in CCC recently about tuning the Spider - interesting stuff.
Heres a pic of a filter on top of the breather - right at the top of the photo. Just a couple of pipes.

The warranty on the Cup is no different to that on any other Renault car. Racing isnt covered - we know that - it says so in the warranty book. But Renault know that we do track days - they even organised one for us in June of this year! Im just wondering where theyd draw the line if they were...
Not really thinking about the engine - I agree with you about the revs. But what about brakes, suspension, structural components etc. How often to you brake really hard from 120mph to 40 in a normal day - happens once or twice a minute on a trackday. Puts a lot of forces though the car.
The Saxo guys are good at this stuff - I think HardcoreSax has one? Saw it at York Dragway - very effective and a nice tidy install. Very difficult in a 172 though owing to lack of room in the engine bay.
Good question Steve: Heres the scenario.
You save up loads and buy a Cup / 172 / V6. Youve saved up enough for loads of trackdays too, so you do one a week, maybe 2 a week in the summer. The cars gonna get an incredible amount of wear and tear.
Will Renault still honour your warranty? Its...

They were pretty strict at Donington Park too. I had my cam clamped to the headrest support with a camera clamp - the marshalls seemed to think that this was ok. Anyone seen with a hand-held camera on the course would get black-flagged apparently. You can get one of these clamps from Jessops for...

Actually W A Lewis Telford / Shrewsbury, but wouldnt fit in the title box..
OK Ive bought a few cars from these guys and Ive always found them to be helpful, but they really surpassed themselves this morning. I had to take the car in for a sh*tguard to be replaced - it had come adrift...

Couldnt you get a 1.8 8v lump and throw that in? Not as expensive or complex as a valver engine and would still give you a good power increase and a basis for further mods... Just a thought.

haha! Too busy ripping my own apart at the moment - The sh*tguards on the drivers side front decided to make a bid for freedom on the M54 last night and needless to say theyve made a pretty good job of destroying themselves .
