Ill be at the next airfield day for a friendly comparison TomS :) TBH wouldnt like to geuss either way on the outcome.
In all fairness all (standard) Clios are slow for an 'enthusiasts' car, but they are fun which goes a long way.
APs are a very serious set-up and prob not needed unless your a hero on the track, the clio is very light.
For ease of use Demon Tweeks can supply all parts, trader on here may do a better price tho.
Is it possible to run the car on original ecu and injectors if the inlet is matched/worked and cams installed? Would it be worth it?
ps, just an idea as this would be hard to detect by renault if it needed warrenty work.
^ Roy is correct, look at the power curve of the clio and you will see that it is optimum for acceleration to meet the shiftlight.
Rev drop at gear change:
1-2....3125
2-3....2291
3-4....1481
4-5....1192
Hey Dan, was it you i spoke to?
If it was i had just come back from a very stange event, prob thought i was pi$$ed or mental, lol, wasnt with it at all!
AA been and gone now, simply seems to be the thermostat housing so im happy(and Renault).
Seemed odd the water went a totally different colour, ah well, back to the dealer!!!
Waiting for renault assistance but pretty sure ive blown the head gasket on my 182! Anybody done one before? Just wondered how big of a job it actually is?
Plenty would tho, less lethal than the Clio v6 i'd imagine and given safety features now not so bad if you do spin into something (hopefully).
205 is still king, long live the king lol
Cheers Omar, iirc your running them with F1s which would also be my choice for an everyday tyre or dunlops for track, not overly impressed with the standard fitment given cost.
Rory, ive driven several 205s inc a challenge car on a small course, i also took the 182 to the airstrip last weekend (+10k fast road miles) and trust me the 182 will never match the fun of the 205 for me.
The Clio is the car i own for a reason tho, its a much better car in every other way :)
No doubt about it, i bought the 182 (not Trophy tho) hoping it was the modern 205 but it is no-where near as much fun or has the adjustability that a 205 has on the limit.
imo the focus has a better chassis aswell.
Thats right Darren, Ian is always off rallying and his buisness suffers as a result.

Just be aware, dont want people getting caught out.
Interesting, once i knew the layout it seems pretty consistant, Passenger added 1sec on fifth lap for me (prob 80kg). Tore rear seats out (~15kg) for all but first run aswell. Totally standard otherwise.
Damn that 106 was even quicker than i thought, superb times (clutch was weak on it too).
