I went to Norway last year.
I took a small tripod, camera, 50mm and a wired remote. In hindsight needed a wider lens, but had nothing suitable. As above, manual focus to infinity then bulb mode and trial and error. Amazingly you can take a tripod on an airplane in hand luggage, even though they...
I have the 42" version of that. Got it about 18 months ago, bloody fantastic TV.
I spent a lot of time comparing them, and at the time it had the best (imo) smart system so went with it for that reason alone. Picture quality is great, sound is ok but imo sound is crap on most tv's these days...
I've had to change to a maybe, as I might be in York a bit longer than I planned. Do you plan to go to a pub or anything post drive like last time? Probably more chance of me meeting you lot then.
Yep, I'm up for this.
I'm in Halifax that weekend, although I have to pop to York that day, but I can likely get that done in the morning and then come to this after.
Is the road over Baitings open again then?
Sorry I missed this, we had a meal booked for 2pm in the end so was never going to happen.
Looks a decent turnout for a Yorkshire meet, especially in winter!
Too long, admittedly my fault for always being tied up these days. Hopefully Matt and Jim will get a few good meets together and I'll try and make them.
I'm a maybe, it's my dad's birthday and we are out for a meal but if it doesn't clash I'll be there.
On a side note, the new forum is looking sweet for organising meets, really like the map and attending thing.
It's half an hour on the motorway!
I miss the TOPO days, if you do a Sunday one I'll attempt to attend as I travel back south from Yorkshire most Sundays.
Spot on.
The reason I won't upgrade, I need a better battery in my next phone now. The 6+ offers this to some extent (if the keynote stats are true) but it's just too big.
If they had launched the same phone I have now (5S) but stuck a battery twice the capacity in it I'd buy it in an...
Are you doing speed tests over wifi?
I've found the sky provided router very flakey, ethernet I get a reliable 38ish, wifi it fluctuates between 20 and 30Mbps even without moving where I am.
Just a quick one, I have an exhaust fouling a metal bracket, is it feasible to use some sort of exhaust tape, on the bracket side, to stop rattling and offer some protection?

Got some part worns going cheap on eBay, I think these fit non-sports, best to double check.

Well, what a poor turnout for such a good theme :(
Here are the 4 entries, thanks to those that did enter.
We'll have a break for a while I think, and maybe start up again in a month or so. In the meantime vote for your favourite from below:

Yep, you can play games offline no problem.
The mandatory daily sign in was never implemented, which is a shame as it enable other cool features. Unfortunately it was picked up by the press, mis-sold in early XBO articles, the usual morons known as the general public complained and now we all...
Sorry to post in the meets section, just looking for some local advice.
Does anyone know any well priced powder coaters or wheel refurbishes? Preferably north of Manchester and as close to Blackburn/Preston as possible.
Just need a set of steelies doing, so nothing fancy.
Cheers :)
This for that budget. I was looking at it the other day as my dad is after a new laptop.
I got my mum a similar spec HP about 18 months ago and it's a fantastic laptop. It's fast and still has good battery life. Streams HD fine, and is often used to watch online stuff on the TV via HDMI.
It's not normal phone insurance, it's through the house as an add on, I'm happy with a settlement.
Seen some deals:
new 5s £90 + £29.99 x 24 for the equivalent contract as I'm on. So thats a total of £810
Or, keep current contract at £18, which is £432 for 24 month, plus equivalent 5C...
Just got off the phone.
I have to send it back tomorrow to see if it can be repaired, and if not they'll ring me Monday to discuss the settlement which is apparently the cost of a replacement based on the prices on Apple's website. I'm pretty confident it's beyond economical repair so might...
The insurance are calling me in the morning to sort it out, it's new for old so the only options are 5C or 5S unless they can dig up some old 5 stock from somewhere. I'm hoping for a 5S, as thats technically the class of phone I had before but judging by the replies I guess a 5C would do...
Could anyone highlight any differences between the two?
I smashed my 5 in a car door today, it's buggered, I'm anticipating the offer of a 5C from our insurance and I wanted to know if there are any negatives over my old 5.
I know its plastic over metal but I don't mind that, any other...
A friend of mine has it on an old Triumph through Adrian Flux. He's 19 and pays just short of £700 iirc, seems a lot to me but still a lot cheaper than a normal policy for him, I think the cheapest he could get on a Corsa was £2k.
Matt won the last competition with the shot below:
This month he has picked the theme Vintage, as always check flickr for idea's and inspiration!
