Seperate Wash and Wax
Wash - Duragloss Shampoo or Sonax Gloss Shampoo
Wax - Chemical Guys 50/50 or Swissvax Onyx depeding on your Budget.
Depends on the severity.
Clean with Autoglym Engien and Machine Cleaner and then follow up with some paintwork clay.
If that is not working you may need to step up to an acid based wheel cleaner - AG Clean wheels maybe.
After polish and seal with Autoglym Resin and Extra Gloss then soap and...
If they are freshly painted you will probably be able to skip the clay.
AG SRP and EGP topped with Poorboys Wheel Sealant or Swissvax Autobahn Wheel Sealant.
You may have to leave sealing and waxing the painted part that long yes - I have polishes you can use on it regardless. Though the part in question should be able to be baked in the oven off the car when painted so there should be no reason for it not to be baked proper.
Best of asking the painter what you can and can't do after.
Polishing will be fine in any circumstances on the new paint as long as it is sealnat/wax free. Depending on how the new paint has been baked you may need to leave it for 30-90 days plus or it may be fine to apply selant or wax...
