f5.6 with the extender on. Quality is fine.

TBH dont use it much now since I got the 300mm Prime though.
AG SRP and EGP is an ideal combo. Worth building up 2 or 3 layers of the EGP over a few weeks as it will look better and last longer.
As the others have said then follow this up with a good pure carnuba wax, they are a good choice few choices out there, just make sure it is not one containing...
AG Bumper Gel is the daddy on textured trim. Apply leave it to stand for 10 mins of so, then buff with cloth to remove te excess of as Dan says it will be streaking all over the shop.
Autoglym Engine and Machine Cleaner or Meguiars APC and a good scrub with soapy water.
Dress the plastics with some Bumper Care, polish the paintwork while you there etc lol ;)
The f4 is light as they come! I can happily shoot all day with mine. My 300mm f4 IS Prime gets heavy after a while and that weights lots less than the 70-200 2.8.
Si has the pre IS 2.8 - and loves it IIRC. It is one of the best peices of Canon glass ever. As you say Oms will take a 1.4 or 2x...
I have never used them hence why I ask - nothing more than a dye so I understand. Some of the Pug GTi boys used to use the boot polish and claimed that would not come off on there clothes but I am not convinced.
TBH like your suggestion in the previous post I would have just got it retrimmed...
Bloody hell - Weeman in the detailing section, replying to threads in a serious nature I never thought I would see the day ;)
Some of these matched dyes they do, no good for even a cheap fix?
There is no real product that will do all those steps in one.
For the best results you need to put the steps in once every few months, but does not need to cost much.
Autoglym Super Resin and Extra Gloss Sealant once every three to six months and wash with a wash'n'wax type shampoo inbetween.
Polish/Swirl Remove is the same thing.
Though to remove swirls you polish with a harsher/more abbrassive polish.
By hand it is no easy task, Scratch X and a folded terry towel for more bit an even pressure is your best bet but will take you ages and be tiring, and not ever really 100%...
Nice lol
The shine will nearly all come from the polishing stages, get the PC on it before you worry about the waxes, 90% of the gloss and shine comes from the prep/polishing.
Wire brush !?!
Keep going at it with the wire wool and metal polish till you get a finish your happy with, then follow it up with metal polish on a cloth, and finally SRP.
