Yeah Jeffs needs the AIO or SRP base to be effective as does the EGP.
Lusty is the only one who uses the Butter Wet wax and he is busy applying fake tan or something. No comment on the other stuff!
The paint is odd, marks really easily but takes some effort to correct. It is not soft compared to other paints I have woprked on, just marks easily as hell.
VW Black is hard, I have machine polished a Black R32 for a neighbour a few times now and despite it being car washed each week it does...
A glaze after the PO85RD may add something. But the Gloss it leaves is already superb.
I am going to try my old fave combo of Clearkote Vanilla Moose and Red Machine Glaze or Megs 7 before HD Cleanse and Carnuba and see what they add.
For me on a car that will be getting coat of wax most weeks...
FFS Lusty stop spaming ;)
Blitz is ok, does not leave the washed out look like M-Seal does at least.
For Carnuba type looks in a sealant I still like Wolfgang and Blackfire All Paint Protection, which both have the edge slightly in looks on the EGP and Jeffs.
But neither the Wolfgang or...
Oh so true - My daily drives will always be silver.
Wash and a drive round the block to dry it - job done.
10 mins leaving a few hours to spend on the Black toy!
Same process on Silver as any other colour, just results will not look as effective or dramatic looking as they where on Monaco due to the reflective colour.
My Silver car looks pretty much the same after I have spent hours polishing, glazing and waxing as it does after after a wash and coat of...
There wax as you dry products to use on the wet car as you dry to. But these dont have quite the same effect as using a QD in drying.
I must admit I use the Prima Hydro or Aquawax Wax as you dry products on my daily drive as it is silver and that makes it look as good as it did even when I had...
So true - The more I polish it the more it frustrates me though, the more shiny it gets the worse the orange peel looks.
If I was brave I would wet sand it to make it better than factory, but I bet there is as much orange peel is in basecoat.
Pick a lighter or flat colour Craig they seem...
LOL - Yeap!
Though TBH the Orange peel is no worse than some other cars of the day, at least they get some paint on there unlike Peugeots of the past few years!
With Renault's standard paint finish I think a full body repray would be easy to spot!
Plus I know very very few people that go to the extent of stripping a car down properly to the extent you need to for a full respray.
Quick Detailing spray was origionally designed to remove light dust - But as you have read it can be used in the drying process though to help reduce marring/scratches during drying.
If you are using a Microfiber towel to dry the car. Spritz a couple of sprays of the QD on the panle before...
I thought that early when I was looking at the exchange rates, don't really need anything at the moment, though a pot of Zymol Vintage would work out cheap(er) from the USA right now!
Jeffs is a reformulated vesrion Klasse SG sealant (The german version of AG EGP) made to be sprayable and wipe on and off.
Klasse SG is proven to be as long lasting - reading some reports even more durable than EGP 6 months Plus from a few coats, so it is well proven but is even more of a pain...
Welcome to CS Adam.
First up the process is easily divided up into stages.
On Silver I would:
Wash - self explanitary really!
Clay - Removes stuck on grime washing alone wont.
Polish/Swirl Remove - Removes any mild paint defects and creates a good gloss to the paintwork - scratches etc...
