yeah its a bit of a gray area tbh, i replace the aux belt at 36k and inspect/replace tensioner/idler if needed, at 72k its full replacement take it or leave it
did they do the roof rail delete with metal/lead? or wodge it full of filler? looks a proper job, so hopefully the first option! Michael from Denmark (focus ST orange mk1) has had that done, looks awesome
check the bottom idler for play/noise/smooth rotation, anything odd and change the lot, i always change the lot when they come in for cambelts, no arguments
only available as the complete unit, and from renault the tensioner is £140+vat alone (kit with idler, tensioner and belt is £116+vat, go figure!)
you won't get one from renault for £75(approx), for that you'll have to go see a motor factor
generally speaking 4th gear on "most" cars is as close to 1:1 ratio. If you run in 3rd gear you are giving a false reading
basically if you want to impress people you "cheat" and run the cars in 3rd = naughty
not true in all cases, and some rolling roads do things differently, but it does go...
