Thinking about a rollcage for my 1.8 valver (preferably bolt-in, without going through the dashboard) but am having problems finding links!
Anyone know any good sites?
Nope, but neil stirtons flatm8 has used them for a RR session and says they seem to know their stuff so should be pretty good.
BTW forgot to mention last night - avoid exodus at costs! Some pikey student girl decided to boot me one after falling on top of me - classy!
Pics up now! See... http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=13&TopicID=81622&PagePosition=1http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=13&TopicID=81622&PagePosition=1
Nope, kept the phase 1s - nice and subtle! I was planing to get willy wheels in silver when i got around to doing a 2ltr conversion but TBH, with the extra speed round corners the wider track has given me, im not going to bother with the engine conversion. Probably just stick to headwork etc or...
Yes it is possible. I think hillpower and k-tec use the webber kit (although webber themselves have apparently withdrawn it for "further development" )
I cant think of anyone offhand that has it but I think Colin_S might be getting some fitted.....dunno for sure tho
Thanks folks!
Its probably fair to say that if i had just replaced the whole front end with standard 16v parts id have noticed a difference but i dont think itd have been as much as fitting the willy parts has made. Its unreal and the best mod ive had done IMO.
Paul C 16v: you wont be able...
Well finally, after all the hassle involved, i got the call from the garage to say my car was ready - williams front track was fitted!
Pics to follow over the weekend but ive been out driving it all evening and can tell you if you have a valver, get this mod done! The difference is tremendous...
3k yeah but consider that bbs kits cost 5k minimum and about 7k for the full works. The other advantage of the k-tec one would be that becuase its low pressure (190bhp max or so) it wouldnt be quite so severe on gearboxes, clutches etc.
Strange that theres no-one with it though...
Right enough there - buying a cheap one will cost a lot more in the long run (will tell you about my valver experience at the meet next week!).
As for the wheels id be tempted to put on the originals - i find that very few aftermarket wheels look "right" on these cars and never look as good as...
Infinicar? Youll have got a good car then - Paul is a top bloke.
You got much planned for it? A set of phase 1 alloys and youd have a replica of mine.... :D
K-tec seem to do a low-pressure turbo kit fot the 19/clio 16v costing about 3k (obviously cheaper than BB) but i havent heard of anyone going for it.
Has anyone seen or tried the conversion or offer any input as to its quality/reliability etc...
Bodywork on my valver will need done at some point so am just wondering how much a respray (flash over) would roughly cost? I also have the obligatory arch rust and a few dents - how much extra to sort them?
Thanks!
First point will be down to water leaking in through the aerial hole, a seal on the sunroof leaking or the sunroof working slightly loose. Until you get it fixed id remove the central locking reciever in the roof console as the water will corrode the connections on the circuit board.
Second...
Well, dont know for sure but fairly certain it will be.
Thought its unlikely to be gearbox differences (as people have put JC5s in a valver without modifying the track and no problems) so it can only be the shaft difference i think...hope....
Ha - you may ask.......!
Seriously though, the (rounded) price list runs as follows.
Williams front shocks - 80 quid in total,
Williams wishbones - 100 quid in toal,
Williams ARB - 70 quid in total,
Williams Driveshafts - 300 quid in total,
Williams ARB Bushes and misc clips -...
Update - my garage is having to get the willy shafts from renault ( ) which means delivery is looking like the end of this week now. Hopefully get the car back this coming saturday!
....situation has been made worse by my mum giving me her 1.1 metro to "get me by"! LMFAO!
