    the cambelt kit is £150+vat the auxbelt kit is £107+vat the core plugs are £11ish plus 5hours labour (less if you're good ;))

    get it on a diagnostic computer before you do anything, will save you in the long run

    no even with a mk1 172 engine in a mk2 car running FBW throttle it was quicker

    probably the nuts are worn out, get some new ones (they're oval so self locking anti vibration nuts, i forget the technical name k-nuts maybe)

    mk1 172 head is the best IMO, no idea why mk1 172 engines just seem "faster"

    depends how much you're talking and how close to birmingham you are

    don't bother touching the engine, a car with 190bhp-200bhp vs a standard car with a decent brake/suspension setup will get owned that and learn how to drive
