I span my old 205 GTi after a L-O-O moment and it was a bugger to restart. Just normal I think, must cause some kind of fuel starvation, doubt you have a problem.
My 306 was easy as it had the plastic arch liners.
The blackish stuff is underseal, best left on - but you can remove it with AG Bumper Care which for some reason eats through it if you wish.
Sounds as battered as mine!
I cleaned mine up with some plastic polish you can use on Motorycle visors only for it to get all scratched up again so never bothered again.
I did a back to back test of AIO and AG SRP on an oxidised bonnet.
The Klasse gets the job done alot quicker.
Single stage paints respond better to oily glazes even more than clearcoted ones. Same processes as cleacoated finishes apply.

On Black most waxes look great over a proper prep. This is what matters not just the final coat of wax. Think of the wax as the final ingredient, the icing on the cake, you need to get the base sorted first.
