Working by hand is very hard work, I gave up trying to de-swirl mine by hand and ended up buying a PC (Porter Cable) machine polisher.
You could try Meguiars Scratch X id working by hand, but is hard to do the whole car, and never 100% effective.
If I was just going to pick one, P21s for me, looks great on all colours and easy on and off. Has a great depth and look.
Nattys Blue does look slightly wetter on darker colours but is not as easy on or off.
If it is red and faded/oxidised as it is single stage (non laquered paint) try a good paint cleaner like Klasse AIO on a polishing pad.
Que Brazo and his Red oxidisation pics ;)
I wouldnt have done it the other way round either as the cleaners in NXT would have removed the EGP. The EGP wont give as the same durability over NXT as it can do as it wont bond properly like it does over AG SRP.
DC3 will be fine over it after the next wash.
Shampoo does sound a worthy buy then, been using Sonax because of the finish it gives, and it allowing you to get away with just a wash. Not ordred any products for a while so will place an order I think on all the reviews on here. I have had a bottle of NXT wash for about 2 years now and still...
Car looks great - nice work, must try out some of the shampoo, Alan says its really good. Not a big fan of the Megs NXT range here, shampoo seems harsh and wax is apin on and off and durability is poo, I do like the metal polish tho
Know what you mean about the pictures, been struggling to...
It all depends on the surround, if they are like the ones that I have seen, once the plates are out you can see how the surrounds are attached. Normally from Renault there are no surrounds and the plates are attached directly to the paintwork.
Weekly wash and quick detail spray and like Jay says top up the wax every few weeks. Redo the whole polish & sealant once every 3-6 months.
I only seem to clay mine about once a year. If you notice stuck on stuff after washing and the paint losses the glass feel then it is time to clay.
