Not had this problem on my Clio, but the last car I had do this was down to a relay in the fuse box for the indicators dying.

With carefull postioning I could get mine to work in the cut out square of the glass. Was very hit or miss tho - ended up getting the additional antenna on the rear shelf in the end, works 100% now.
