mapping is the important thing, i can't map, so i don't touch it, i leave mapping to people with years and years of mapping experience
na you need to have the insides where the pipes join the flange plate welded up and then ported smooth, not 100% needed, but some i've seen are horrible and the gases just flow into the gaps which cause hot spot areas

try running the engine, bonnet up, and pull the cable going to the clutch fork with your hand, if the noise/rattle stops when you pull it, its the release bearing
