It makes me angry when people moan they can't find a car within 4 streets of their home address.
To the OP; if your Dad won't take you, get a mate to. Pay his fuel, buy him a burger king at the halfway mark and go on a road trip.
You're in balls deep now. After spending all that money, i'd just get it sorted once and for all.
The only way you'll get good money back is to break it yourself, and strip it down to the last nut and bolt. ITs a complete pain in the ass, for every ten enquiries you get you'll sell one part...
Unless you are anally specific about building the EXACT correct sized enclosure, a normal box will sound much better.
But there is a guide on here how to build a spare wheel type enclosure.
This should help you. I have used them before when dealing with know-it-all customers. They are very fair and listen to both sides of the argument. 99% of the time they side with the consumer but its good to speak to them to get acurate information...
Regardless of the arguments we've had in this thread, the garage/trader are at fault.
When they sent off the yellow slip on the V5, the dvla would have informed them that it needed VIC testing. They then sold the car knowing full well that they couldn't tax it or do anything with it.
That...
My mate sells his wifes old smelly shoes, used pants etc (his wife has amazing feet, but I digress) and gets good money!!
There are some proper proper strange people on there. Freaks.
Pete, thanks for that.
I've just copied and pasted it in an email to my trading standards bloke. (I hate him, so so much, unrelated to this incedent)
Like I said, I'm happy to be proven wrong! As my old boss says, The day you stop learning is the day you need to stop going to work.
I'll...
I am not a painter or claiming to know ANYTHING about painting but i've painted a fair bit of stuff with aerosol over the years.
That to me looks like moisture has got into the paint. Either by it being on the panel before you started or by forming in condensation while you were in the car and...
Yes, how else would I know its a Cat D? The car books trade at £2400 - retail at £3700 Its a cat d so is retailing at £2500.
The guy claimed he knew nothing about it and tried to get me to offer him £2700 px. A little discussion with his wife and hey ho, they bought it cheap because it was a...
I took one in part exchange today. Funnily enough from a lying cnut who claimed he never knew. He knew, he was just another dirty lying member of the public.

Thats not how I understand it. Nor does my trading standards area guy.
The people in that article were buying smashed cars, repairing them and then selling them. Thats an entirely different game to just taking on in part exchange thats already on the register.
Just take the s**t back to the garage. Is this the one with the idle problem?
If it is, just take it back and get your money back.
Can't believe you've let it go on for this long tbh.
