I had the colour swatches out at the painters and was very very very close to getting mine painted that colour...
I didn't. I would always feel deep down that I copied you. :(
Indeed! lol. Its a 147 but its got bose, leather etc.
I just want something thats easy to sell after xmas just to tide her over. Alfa, Ford Focus, Astra etc.
Gumtree?? I'd rather put her on the bus!
I've just found a nice looking alfa, just spoke to the guy and offered him half of what it was advertised for (no history) and he didn't say no! Going round at 11am tomorrow.
I'm suprised you managed to get on the motorway and you didn't just roll back down it.
On a side note, where are you looking for cars? I need to find my wife something sub £3k with 5 doors. Looking on autotrader/ebay/ph etc and its just all junk!
I cvan't answer the remote situation as theres a few possibilities.
BUT. I can answer why your key just spins in the lock. Its the wrong lock/key. They are called anti-drill locks and are designed to spin when anything but the correct key.
Mike!
I haven't been in touch because theres nothing to talk about! My cars still in birmingham and sams is still at the bodyshop. This weekend (hopefully!) both our cars will be down the unit so I'll be in touch.
Loving the welding on your cage though, top stuff!!
Autosol (from halfords/tescos/anywhere)
Wire wool/brillo pad.
Microfibre cloth.
Use the wirewool and autosol (wear gloves, I expect you have manicures and they'll leave your hands clean) and just keep rubbing. Clean it all off.
Then autosol and a micrfofibre and polish it all up spick...
Renault don't do that. BMW/audi/VW etc all do it and its superb.
Back on topic....
OllieL, theres a 2004/04 plate 172 in the for sale section, looks proper tidy, 44,000 miles, History, a few mods etc. £2495.
Infinately better than that red thing.
If you paid £12 membership, you'll save...
And then in 2000 miles time the bottom end goes because its been ran on tar like oil for the last 4 years....
I don't understand why people buy 'performance cars' with no history. Its financial suicide especially when there are hundreds and hundreds of 172's to choose from.
If she causes £4000 worth of damage, and her excess is £1000, the insurance will pay the other people £4000 but only after you've paid your insurers your £1000 excess.
what ever cage you get, just make sure its fitted properly by someone who is good at welding.
I've looked at 6/7 cars with cages lately and I wouldn't want to have a crash in any otf them!!
Its all very well having a fandango super dooper cage but if the welding is s**t or the cage isn't...
You wouldn't recognise the cage Dan.
To put it in as nice way as possible, He was desperately upset by the welding so ground loads off and re-did it all and added about 16ft of tubing to finish it off.
Its all been done properly, to the strut tops etc.
Its nearly there!
He went with storm grey, red cage and piano black roof. A mutual friend is painting it and he's done a bloody brilliant job!! Inside is all done, outside next week hopefully.
(Why aren't the pics loading???!!)
If you haven't got time, how will you have time to take it somewhere and walk for miles while they do it?? :S
Just be honest! You can't be fcuked.
I can't be fcuked to do it despite owning all the equipment so I also pay someone to do it.
