That's certainly food for thought. I may well consider at that price, £400 for an engine from a breakers?
I'll be returning to AngelWorks shortly for a full check. I'll consider my options as they present themselves.
Thanks for the advice though.:)
Cheers Fred. I've got my suspicions about that area. Then again I've got suspicions about the car not having enough power when I first bought it with the oem exhaust.
I'm not expecting mega performance, but something aint right...???
Sorry to hear your encountering the same dilema as myself.
I agree, there's something not right with some of these 182's. I'm really piss*d off at the mo, but hopefully something can be sorted with the full check at AngelWorks.
Although I'm wondering if anything will come up and just how...
Ok, a little proof in evidence to my lack of horsepower:
Tonight on my local circuit I took on a 182FF using a Viper induction kit with cold air feed, YozzaSport full system with deleted centre silencer, and YozzaSport de-cat (same as myself).
Both cars were neck and neck, no difference at...
Firstly I'd like to say I don't hold Ben respsonsible for not checking the car was ok beforehand. I'd not stated there was any issues and thought that these mods would lift the bhp from (what I suspect) was circa 165 to 190. Looking back I realise as said when first bought the car, it's not...
I'm wondering if due to being driven easy in it's first 15K, the engine can never properly loosen up. As I've said, since given welly after 15K it has loosened, but maybe not enough and never will.
There's any increase in power, yes. It does have more top end grunt. Slightly quicker lower down.
Just sticks in the throat when I think to myself I've paid 2K and only have 180 bhp.:dapprove:
oh there's something up alright, but where the fault lies, I don't know. However I was told by both Ben and Paul that most cars with all the mods I have don't see much more than cicra 190 at the flywheel.
Ben did say that the 172's respond better than 182's oddly enough to mods.
Yeah I suspect this may be the case. Went for dyno run in the local area for concerns of lack of power when first purchased (June '07). 134 at the wheels. She did loosen up in the following weeks due to using the loud pedal frequently...but loosened up enough??:S
I bought the car a nearly a year back with 15K on her. At the time I was VERY disappointed with the lack of "go" to it.
I was told the engine needed to loosened up with hard driving. If it wasn't done soon it could be too late.
She's now on 32500 and since that piece of advice hard driving...
Anbody know the exact paint code for O.Z.'s Superturismo WRC's (white wheels)?
Or a can give me a code for a VERY close match?
Tried phoning UK distributor, no luck. Tried phoning O.Z. in Italy, number out of service. E-mailing them now, but wondered if anyone knows of it already???
All...
The lowdown on the tuning expedition...
Dropped the car off at Angelworks for the above mentioned products. Returned later in the day. VERY pleased indeed with the work done to the car. As asked Ben had sprayed the inlet manifold along with various other engine parts in satin black. Really...
So far current mods are ITG Maxogen filter, YozzaSport de-cat, BTB full system. Brembo Max discs, DS 2500 pads, braided lines. 4 x 16" O.Z. SuperTurismo WRC's.
Tomorrow sees the addition of Cat 420 cams with matched inlets (manifold sprayed satin black) and fitment of 182 engine cover in...
Sorry to rant on about wheel cleaning but these white SuperTurismos are really getting to me now. I'm having to clean them nearly every other day!
Finding that a they're destroying my lambs wool mit also!
Used an Autoglym wheel brush the other week from a friend's Autoglym cleaning...
Thanks for the info Steve.
I didn't fit the Maxogen, left it to Rentech. Believe Mike followed the instructions.
It's just that the funnel of the box looks exposed to the bay. This is drawing air from directly around it? Can't be that good?
Noticed the air that's drawn into the carbon air box is from the engine bay. Ok, a cooler part of the bay near the battery, but still not as cool as it could be?
Anyone who has the ITG Maxogen kit fitted, are you using a cold air feed system? If so does it work, beneficial?
Many thanks.:)
No one knows how long it'll take for the asymetric's to appear in our sizes. Could be six months to year perhaps.
205's are certainly an advantage in the performance dept. Though at £66 a corner for 195's a bad price that isn't.:)
From opinion on here you won't regret DS2's.
