Following the pleasing results on my Dad's Rover 75 by using SRP and EGP, today the Clio followed suit.
After the SRP was applied and removed the paint looked even better, which I didn't think was possible!
EGP now apllied in a less quantity than on the 75. Waiting for it to dry now. Will be...
A few months back I purchased an Elise S1 with the intention of having the VAG TT conversion by AutoTeknix and Gugleimi Motorsport. I rode in the 250 hp demonstrator. The accelerative thrust was very endearing!!!:) Although required some skill to pilot it through the twisty stuff. Didn't follow...
Hmmm..Some interesting opinions on reasons for purchasing.
At first glance I wasn't very keen at all on the style or shape of the Clio. My first car was a Renault 5, a GT Turbo (Raider). I loved it's looks and I was fond of the Clio that superseeded it. After that it all went down hill. I...
When you say Lotus I take it you mean an Elise. I an Elise S1 in the earlier part of this year. I wouldn't say it was that much quicker than my 182. Also it felt like it had snappy oversteer. Which isn't for me. Though I never trully explored it's limits.
With regards to the 182 not being any...
Just wondered what enticed other Clio 182 Cup owners to buying such a car?
I bought mine as a primary daily driver. Covering between 50-75 miles every day.
I chose it over a Fiesta ST as it's lighter with more power. Over a Civic Type-R as again it's lighter returns more MPG and cheaper to...
Thanks and noted. I left it for about 1/2 an hour, was concerned it might rain. Next time I'll leave it for longer.:)
At least my old man is happy with it. To be honest I was using his car as a guinea pig for the SRP and EGP as I've never used these type of prducts before.
I've got a pretty...
I used to have a Delta HF Turbo. My friend had the Delta Intergrale EVO. I still stand by this and anyone who's ridden in one/owned one will too. The grip levels are COMPLETLEY insane!!! I doubt the Escort could keep up on the real tight corners.
The Integrale can eat a set of tires in less...
Finished the polishing. Applied the EGP. Perhaps a little too much I think. I had to buff the paintwork with some effort to remove the EGP.
It does deffinatley shine more than it used to but not as much as I was hoping for. Swirl marks are still there as noticeable when caught in sunlight.:(...
Strange...I several Escort Cosworths where I live. Yeah, very good cars. As to why they are the ultimate for you I find rather bizarre. An RS 200, now that IS something worthy of dribbling and jaw dropping.
If you wish to cover ground quickly the Escort will do it faster than the Clio. Though...
We've used a Dyson Upright for the past 14 years. When we change eventually after it fails I reckon we'll use a Henry. Done damn well to last 14 years though!:)
I use a Goblin for car vaccing and have done for the past 7 years. It's ok, just average. Then again it's about 20 years old.
Right, I see, the imperfections aren't actually removed via the polish, just masks em'. The paint aint in great condition at all. Most of the bloom has now gone from half of the car which I'm tackling right now. Still a great deal of hair line scratches in the lacquoer. Using one hell of alot of...
Just started applying the Super Resin Polish. Weather is perfect here in Essex. Cloudy but warm with no sight of rain clouds.
The Polish is making a MASSIVE difference to the 75's paintwork. The nasty bloom and countless swirl marks are slowly disappearing.:) :)
Would it better to apply...
Thanks Rich. The laquoer on the 75 is full of swirl marks, real bad ones. I dare say machining would be better but I don't wanna pay out to have it done professionally.
The car has never been polished in it's 6 years of life!!!!:S
Gonna buy the Super Resin Polish and EGP in the next hour from Halfrauds. Planning on using it on my Dad's Rover 75 first as it's much more in need of polish than my Clio.
However the paint on his 75 is metallic. Can Super Resin Polish be used on metallic?
Thanks.:)
I noticed that when I first drove my 182 that I bought. I hadn't heard it for years. Last car I had that did that was my Lancia Delta HF Turbo.:)
Cheap relays with no sound deading.
Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. What's your opinion on an Amourfend kit for the front end and possibly rear quarters. There's hardly any stone chips at the front, and I'd REALLY like to keep it that way.
Cheers.:)
Most helpful, thank you. I suppose choosing you moment to apply these products can prove difficult? Not in direct sunlight but products wont dry if moisture is in the air...winter approaching.
Thank you.:)
I've built up several layers of wax on the paintwork so far. I'm wondering if it would be best to allow it to wear down a little (car is washed every five days) rather than applying the Super Resin Polish at present?
I've never used Xenon bulbs in any of my cars beforehand.
I wondered what others think of them and are they an advantage? If so where would be the best place to purchase them and what wattage are?
Thanks.:)
This year I've sold three cars on Pistonheads.
Firstly my Integra Type R in January. I let it go ridiculously cheap for £4550. It went in 24 hrs. However the buyer would've discovered a few undesirable points after driving the car for a week or so. Though the buyer was an as**ole!
Later in...
I like the idea of taking it to those guys though the distance in petrol may outweigh it. I suspect it'll be circa 125 miles from my home town of Braintree (nr Chelmsford). Any specialists in Essex? Or nearby?
