I just feel that a big brake kit would improve the car's braking capability. After 120 mph I've noticed that fade is a problem. I suspect they'll warp soon enough. The fade is irratating to say the least.
4 pots will certainly help in grabbing the disc, but I figured a much bigger disc would...
In the next few months I'll be upgrading the front brakes on my 182.
My dilema is that I feel for the optimum set up I should increase the disc size to a greater diameter than that of the standard disc. To do this I'll need to increase wheel size up from 16" to 17". I was told at GDI that...
Thanks for the comments gentlemen.:)
I guess it's failure on these car's as I've never had to replace brake discs before with these miles on the clock.
I don't recall seeing anything which looked seroiusly corroded when shown the inside of the discs at GDI.
I'll have a good look within...
I had two wheels on my Impreza fixed by Wicked Wheels, a mobile repair outfit. I believe they'll come to you as you're in Essex as am I.
They repaired the imperfections caused by curbing and resprayed the wheels. The quality of the spray job was good. Although a 100% perfect match in colour...
Any whining noise? Probably not the same as the Impreza I had,but if not completely topped up a whining would occur.
Sounds like an intermitent fault with the steering pump. A noise louder than normal can be heard when the wheels are moved when stationary?
Thank you.
Samurai added and buffed. Suspect I've used too much it's produced a sort of hologram effect after buffing. Some effort required in removing it also.
The instructions say a lustre will form after two to three hours of leaving the car in the sunlight. Then buff once more.
Also a...
Sun shines here in Essex currently, for long I'm unsure.
Going to wash the car immediately and follow with the Samurai wax. However, without Cleaner Fluid (pre wax oil) will the Samurai adhere well? Considering the paint was treated to EGP about four weeks back. Would it be better to use...
Sure. Since I'm covering up to 17K per annum I'll stick with the routine EGP and SRP treatment. Also car isn't garaged over night.
Thanks for the info on the Der Wunder Towels.:)
My, my what an amazing gentleman, a true prodigy. He must be working for the military by now designing cloaking devices or perhaps he's advising God on the best solution for the human race.:approve:
SRP and EGP are the better way to go than ignoring Swissol Cleaner Fluid in you opinion.
Also the Der Wunder towels have arrived. Used the other day, both of em on friends Fiesta. Seem to require more effort than a chamois leather. Improve over time?
Never have to wash you again eh? Don't suppose he knew of a product which eliminated shaving as well, or perhaps a shampoo which deleted the need to wash one's hair ever again?:)
Indeed. Just discovered an instruction booklet with the carry case stating that various waxes have been formulated to specific manufacturers paint. As you say Samurai for Jap paint, hence being bought for the Impreza by it's previous owner.
The manual also states that Onyx gives best results...
I've disovered that Swissol Samurai wax is included in the collection. There's half a tub left. Is it any good? worth using?
Also Swissol Autobahn, from reading the instructions is appears to be a wheel wax.
Lastly a Swissol Paint Rubber. Looks to be putty for claying paintwork.
Has...
Just been for the 24K service at GDI.
The technician said I'd need to replace my front discs soon as they're corroding. OK, the unused centre part of the disc is looking grubby but never have I been told to replace discs due to this.
The discs have a great deal of metal left on them. Just...
When I purchased my Impreza I was given a quite a few Swissol cleaning products with fabric carry case.
Is Swissol the old name for Swissvax, or are they two different companies?
Looking at a couple of online retailers. One states that he sells Exalto 2 PE2's aonther just Exalto PE2.
Looked on my sidewall. It says Exalto PE2. Have Exalto 2 PE2's replaced the tyres that are on my car?
Is anybody using Exalto 2 PE2's? Or has the retailer got it wrong?
Thanks.:)
Exalto's according to the retailers mentioned bellow seem to exist in two different guises: Exalto PE2 and Exalto 2 PE2. Does this mean Exalto 2's have replaced the orginal? If so is there a difference in tread pattern?
I'm using original Exalto PE2's. I only need one and would like to keep...
Noted. Thanks for the advice.
I'll be waxing her in the next couple of weeks. I've used up my bottle of Turtle Wax Orginal. Any recomendations on what to replace it with. Not too bothered if I have to buy it on line or off the shelf. Not too pleased with Meguiars Gold Class that I've used once...
The job is finished.
The results are very pleasing indeed!!!:)
Very true, less is more with EGP. Although I have found now that the atmosphere is becoming moist outside, a certain damp haze is appearing on the roof. Like a condensation. Perhaps something to do with a temparature change...
