My old 6330 was a great phone to use, didn't look so wonderful though. It would work no matter how badly it was treated or how many concrete floors it'd bounce along.
My iPhone is definitely my favourite.
My iPhone will last 4 hours of actual usage per day including web browsing, phone calls, texting, iPod playback and push email activated. No worse than any Nokia handset I previously owned.
Apple instore customer service is brilliant, they replaced my iPhone 3G last week without any fuss at all. I had the same level of service when they replaced my 14 month old iMac wireless Mighty Mouse.
No Push email is exactly that, when the email server receives a new message it is automatically pushed to the handset without the need to manually/periodically check for messages.
Prior to v2.0 firmware Push was not an option.
Apple's own MobileMe serive is a bit patchy but I've had no issues...

How about setting the passcode lock to 4 hours or does this still require you to enter a passcode every time a sms is received? This way it'll not bother you very often having to enter the code.
No not tried Pusher yet. Is it any good and a worthy alternative to a jailbroken iPhone?

Buy the Touch or the Nano, both good players. Obviously you get more with the Touch including wifi net browsing but you may not like the size. It's not huge though.
RSIDave you can have the cal entries notify you by setting the alarm or were you referring to something different?
Ok I've tested my updated iPhone with my Alpine HU and it's working perfectly still including full playlist selection.
Web browsing is far faster now and so far no Safari crashes...
