You can unlock any iPhone upto the most recent firmware version. The v1.1.1 problem was fixed within a week of the update been issued. The UK handsets will probably run v1.1.2 which will not be hacked immediately but I imagine it will not take long.

I'll be doing the same as J273 and buy this version of the iPhone and if/when they release a new version next year I'll simply buy that too. The price to buy any new model will be less than most smart phones would cost sim free so it's not an issue.
It'll work if you unlock it but the visual voicemail feature will not function.
The internet works great, no problems at all. The iPhone is a similar size to the Touch.

Yeah that's the one thing I'll not like about the iPhone, 8gb is not enough. I'll upgrade to whatever new version they release next year. The 32gb chips are apparently in production for Apple.
o2 have confirmed that their stores will not sell the iPhone until 6pm on the 9th November and will open until 10pm. The stores close at 2pm that day to prepare for the launch.
I own that unit and it is able to conenct to all iPods AFAIK. You have the choice of the old analogue connection (iPod Full Speed) or use the digital usb connector with the previous (5th gen) and current iPods. The iPhone worked OK when I tested it with my headunit so I would expect the Touch to...
When they hacked my account I was annoyed to discover from the bank that they had incorrectly entered the CVC number on all occasions yet the bank still cleared the transactions. Don't really see the point of the CVC if an incorrect entry is ignored.
