Yeah, rolled about 5 minutes before the end of the day as he was coming onto the start finish straight. Back end stepped out when his wheel touched the rumble strip then onto the grass and it dug in and rolled twice. Was not a pretty ending for the car, the driver got out unharmed though thankfully!
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Yeah, they were parked next to us all day, I remember the passenger in the picture driving the 5. Cant remember who was driving in the video either, but I tried to find the guy after we had come in to find out more about the 5 but he was nowhere to be seen...
I did acctually try and find you after the Clio rolled and we were all getting a group photo, but I think you had gone? Oh well there is always next time...
Problem is, when you own one you realise how much up-keep they require when being used as we do - becomes a nightmare lol.
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
They are 205/50/15's, GG compound..... Only got them as they were a tenner a tyre a few months back, as the guy couldnt use them on the road anymore. They've done 3 days (two wet) and still got a fair amount left. They are pretty wide but I seem to have...
I just read the whole first page and was going to ask a few questions about what else you were going to do, but I carried on reading the following pages and all the questions were answered lol. Cheers for the comments too!
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
The car performed well at Mallory over the weekend, not a single problem which is unusual! Especially towards the end of the day when the track was dry it drove brilliantly, quite some difference to how it did last year. Although, I was sometimes a bit...
Wasnt timing as it was only a track day - but going from the last video probably around or just under the 60 second mark, hard to tell. Comparing that to last years video its acctually slower, as there were some 57-58 sec laps before my gearbox went. Admittedly I was pushing harder round...
Another good weekend organised by RTOC, quite a number of ClioSport members took part too which was great. Good to meet a few new people and the usuals - Tom@Wests Renault, Steve, Stevieh, Barnesautos etc!
Camping was interesting as always as im sure the rest will agree, especially with the...
Good to meet you over the weekend and have a few good drives out on track, even if it was a bit slippery...
...and 4m40 onwards in this one...
Alex got quite a number of pics of your car on track too I think, ive got some of them here - will have a look through later and post them up :)
Not had chance to read the lot but the fuses/relays look the correct types/amounts..
If the immo is active the fuel pump WILL still prime, but you will get no injectors or spark when cranking - thus immobilising the engine. So if your fuel pump is not running I would be checking that first...
Slightly different as the two gearbox mounts (to the gearbox casing) are different, but it still fits...
Its easy to get the right length belt... use a piece of string round the correct path then measure the length....go to your local motor factors and get them to order one in :)
Clutch extender bracket is upside down in your picture, the flat 'T' piece goes on the bottom. The brass bit is to centralise the bolt and goes on the nut side, on the opposite side of the box to where the bracket is sat. The bracket sits on the 'outside' of the hole on the box... Its hard to...
