It’s that time of year again... car insurance

Tbf to the NFU they are aimed at households/farms with multiple vehicles so it’s not that surprising. When it comes to a claims tho they are really good, we’ve claimed for loads of stuff and they pretty much payout new for old without any argument. Also you generally deal direct with a local...

Fancied a van. Bought a van.

Looks smart! Mines on 130k and it's never let me down despite not spending much on it, still on the original cambelt. Only thing I've replaced is the bulbs in the heater panel.

    Programming Careers

Thanks for the post lots of useful information! I went with python because it's used in a lot of the cad programs I use, so seemed like a reasonable starting point. Hopefully coding is a lot like other things once you know one it's much easier to pick up another. Javascript react seems to be...

Figured there must be a few of you on here that can offer some pointers. I’ve got a fair bit of spare time on my hands at the moment so I’m going to have a crack at teaching myself Python as a back up/future career option. I already have experience writing scripts for 3ds Max in Python so I’ve...

    iPhone 12

I’ve had face ID for 3 years now and I’d still prefer touch ID. The issues I have with Face ID is it doesn’t work if my phones flat on a desk or if it’s in a cradle in a vehicle without car play. Only way it’s better for me than touch so far is if my hands are covered in grease I can still...

Face ID’s never been as good as Touch ID imo. I wish they’d find a way to reimplement it.

    Punchier brakes

I doubt you will notice much difference you have to really push the brembos to get them to overheat on a 182. Something else usually breaks before you get to that point.. 😂

Wrexham metal finishing do it I think, might be worth asking them.

What brand and type exhaust is this?

The backbox looks correct but I'm not sure that centre section will fit in it. Also there should be a third exhaust mount that bolts to the car, that you will need so check that's not missing.

What brand and type exhaust is this?

However after looking at this for a bit I think the center section isn’t the correct one.

Ain’t that the truth. Every renault I’ve tried the gearbox is awful, they really should have packed it in an gone to zee Germans for em.

    172 with Megane 265 engine?

Cost is going to be the biggest issue and it’s a lot of work for 265 horses compared to turboing a standard engine.

I’d bet water is getting in somewhere else and the previous owner has made a hole in that bung to drain it out if you haven't inspected the rear bungs and scuttles it may be worth the effort.

    Exhaust woes (loud)

Pretty much this, only way to make them quieter is to reduce the pipe bore.
