Id say leave the speakers as they are for the moment.
get a new headunit and a sub and an 4 channel bridgeable amp. then when you have more money buy some component speakers for the front and run them off the amp too.

as for jacking up on the front i use the same place as the pic shows in that thread you said.
does your immobiliser light flash when you try and re-start it?
Mine has a problem with the immobiliser and sometimes doesnt start. instead i just get the red immobiliser light flashing. it has never cut out in traffic though.
Farecla G3 is good but is more used for bodyshops and garages where a heavier cut is needed. for example after wetsanding and removing overspray. if your looking to just remove some swirls, it is definately not for you.
I've been having some trouble with my keys recently because of the immobiliser not recognising the key.
When i hold in the central locking button inside the car it locks the car then after about 5 seconds ish it unlocks the car again and the immobiliser light by the speedo lights up for a few...
it should last longer than that mate. i have an amp running my sub and front components and i can have it on quite loud so i can hear it outside the car while im washing it. ive had it on before for about 3 hours and it started up fine after that.
depends what head you use what rpm the machine is at and what polish.

the sub is in a smallish sealed box inside the spare wheel well. nothing covering it atm i was going to get some sort of grill but i never got round to it. if i need to put anything significant in the boot i just throw in my old boot carpet ontop of my false floor and it covers it all nicely...
