Fantastic when a cheap runner takes a turn and actually becomes a good car!
Mines finally taking shape too and i laugh sometimes how good the car is, for so little! There’s no knocks or bangs and starts on the button. All for under <£1k... madness.
If you wait for the deal the 150 piece set is usually reduced to around £99-100.
It’s a brilliant kit, especially with the life time warranty too. I’ve just kept my receipts under my screw driver set, it’s safe under there and always to hand if I snap something.
@YorkshireKyle
Actually- that would be amazing 🙉😇 I’ve re-fitted all my suspension and everything, cars back on the road. But I need to tighten up one top mount a bit more, but I can’t with that rounded nut on. So if I could sort those nuts off you, that would be awesome - I can take the shock...
Cheers buddy - I think this is why I’m confused. There’s 2 different types of nuts been fitted on mine. So now you’ve said a thin one, there is one thin one, so I need another of those then; rather than the rounded bodged nut that’s been fitted like I’ve circled then!
I’m after some advice.
I’ve recently put new shocks/springs and top mounts on my DCI and the top mount nuts were slightly rounded from what I’m assuming the previous owner’s have done at some point.
I’m after new ones, it’s the nut/washer combined that hold the top mount down on the shock...
Annnnnd she’s all fresh with MOT ?
Drives much better on the new suspension and brake peddle feels lovely again.
One advisory was a worn passenger side lower arm bushes though..slightly annoying as I was going to put new lower arms and track rods on while it was all apart - but I thought...
Cheers for your wealth of knowledge ??
Always appreciated!
I’ve just purchased that kit because I actually had an eBay voucher to use, so I’ve had the whole lot for £70 delivered. I know it’s not bargain of the year, but it’s all from the same seller.
I’ve got a big day/two on the Clio now...
Any pointers for which timing belt kit/water pump and aux belt I need to buy @Brigsy ? @Austin-182
There’s loads on eBay, but I always worry with all the different kit codes etc and getting the right aux belt.
Cheers ?
I took @Brigsy ’s advice and bought the eBay shocks on offer. Unreal how cheap parts are for these Clio’s
I think it’s less than £100 on all these parts..
Discs and pads on the car are fairly recent, but the passenger side caliper has been sticking - so new pads going on with the new...
Fair play to you buddy - hats off.
It’s taken me a while to consider just buying suspension and brakes for my DCI ? rather than just buying something else.
It’s a good feeling maintaining a car, no matter how cheap it is - it’s an achievement in itself these days that us petrol heads enjoy...
Long overdue update
I’ve been just driving the car with absolute minimal fuss - all its required is fuel ⛽
Now that it’s proved it’s long term reliability I’ve decided to stop putting off the bigger jobs on it, with the MOT due end of the month.
The car has developed a sticky caliper on the...
